Der bekommt ein schönes Webinterface und soll Daten von diversen Rechnern mit verschiedenen OSsen vorgesetzt bekommen. Jetzt bin ich auf der Suche nach einer Software, mit der man unter Windows iso-Dateien erstellen kann, die ich cdrecord übergeben kann. Da ich keine Lust habe, mich mit merkwürdigen Dateinamen auseinanderzusetzen, möchte ich das (für die Win-Dateien) nicht unter Linux machen. *) Kennt jemand eine Software, die - iso's erstellen kann *wichtig:* - aber keinen Treiber-Krempel unter Windows aufspielt? Also _nicht_ ein komplettes Brennprogramm. Möglichst freie Soft. cygwin ist keine Lösung, dann könnte ich es ja gleich wieder unter Linux machen. Danke. Ja, vom Prinzip her schon. Das ist aber wieder so eine cygwin-Kommandozeilen-Geschichte. Ich such was für "Normaluser": "Leg den Ordner mit der Maus auf das Icon". Oder so. ;-) Ehrlich gesagt frage ich mich auch, wie cygwin damit zurechtkommt, daß Dateinamen unter Windows z.B. chinesische Schriftzeichen enthalten dürfen und dergleichen. Ja, auf das Icon eines Ordners in einem Netzlaufwerk, das mit Samba angebunden ist ;-) Danach kann man über ein Webinterface brennen. (Stephan Kurth hat ja Anfang März mal geschrieben, dass es nur mit Samba geht, ich frag gleich mal per PM nach - interessiert mich nämlich auch ;-)
Ehrlich gesagt frage ich mich auch, wie cygwin damit zurechtkommt, daß Dateinamen unter Windows z.B. chinesische Schriftzeichen enthalten dürfen und dergleichen.
Teste es doch einfach ;-) Wenn bei Samba die Zeichensatz-Einstellungen stimmen, müsste es IMHO gehen.

Ich habe da wohl einen Thread verpasst. Also das mit cygwin verstehe ich nicht. Hast du dir webCDcrator angesehen? Der User klickt auf ein Icon (http-Verknüpfung auf die Maschine, woe webCDcreator läuft). Es wird ein Java-Programm (meiner Meinung nach 1.Sahne) geladen und da kann er seine Dateien und auch Iso in das Brennverzeichnis schieben und brennen klicken - fertig. Das Ding fragt sogar, ob man Audio, Daten, CD-kopieren oder ISO brennen will. ... fertig verteidigt ;-) Gruss Fabian

Nur um das ISO geht es mir ja. Die Brenngeschichte bastel ich mir selbst. Windows erlaubt Unicode-Filenames, Linux/Cygwin nicht. Da hilft auch keine Codepage. Linux kann nunmal nur 8-Bit-Namen, Windows 16-Bit. Linux/Cygwin hat andere Features als Windows, zum Beispiel für Dateinamen mit "." am Anfang. Diverse Dinge sind unterschiedlich. Die Dateiattribute zum Beispiel. Ich will keine Dateisystemdiskussion vom Zaun brechen, aber Linux/cygwin ist nunmal anders als Windows. Deswegen möchte _unbedingt_ die ISO mit einer win32-Applikation erstellen, und nicht über Samba-Laufwerke, cygwin oder oder oder... Ich bastle ja immer gerne, aber bei Backups gehe ich Null Risiko ein. Ich will auch Löhnware Backuppen, und da muß ich immer davon ausgehen, daß auch mal absichtlich was "merkwürdiges" drin sein könnte. Seufz. Keiner was gescheites auf Lager? hm, da fällt mir nix mehr ein. Ausser folgendes: Du nimmst ein Win-Brennprogramm und lässt ein ISO genieren. Mit WinONcd oder Nero sollte das eigentlich gehen. Auf download.com habe ich auch schon solche Tools gesehen. Weiss aber nicht, was sie taugen. Gruss Fabian

Will ich nicht. Nur um das ISO geht es mir ja. Die Brenngeschichte bastel ich mir selbst.
Warum selbst basteln, wenn es doch schon fertige Bastelein gibt - die im Übrigen sehr gut funktionieren.... Teste es doch einfach mal aus. Es gibt ein fertiges rpm für SuSE, installiern, starten und auf den Clients den Browser starten, ggf. java-plugin installieren und los gehts. Iss nee feine Sache das.... Carsten

Aber webCDrecord erstellt das ISO Image von einem CD Laufwerk in dem Linuxrechner wie mache ich so ein Image von meiner Windows Platte zu Backup zwecken??? Mfg Tobi

Mit dem Tool kann man doch Dateien von jedem lokalen Laufwerk aus brennen. Also auch von den Win Platten. Carsten
