Hallo! Ich habe mir wegen iptables und ipchains 'nen neuen Kernel gebacken. Den habe ich dann per make bzlilo auf eine Diskette gebracht und ebenfalls per dd if=/dev/sdb1 of=/dosc/bootsek.lin bs=512 count=1 in die Wurzel meines NT-Verzeichnisses. Dort startet Linux aber gar nicht (black screen, trotz Eintrag in die boot.ini!) und per Startdiskette kommt Kernel-panic: Please add a correct root-device! Das ist aber korrekt! Wenn ich den Standard-SuSE-2.4.0 starte, klappt alles :-() lilo.conf: ... image = /boot/vmlinuz root = /dev/sdb1 label = linux initrd = /boot/initrd_24 .... SuSE 7.1 Kernel 2.4.0 Wer kann helfen? Welche Zusatzinfos werden ggf. noch benötigt? Danke! Peter.

[...] Grüß Dich, so wie es aussieht hast Du einen SCSI-Controller im System, nicht wahr? Hast Du den Kernel für Deinen Controller richtig kompiliert. Überprüf das doch noch mal ganz genau. Da unterlaufen einem dümmere Fehler, als man sich vorstellen kann. Zur Not make mrproper und ganz von vorne anfangen. hth Alex

Genau das war's. Dann hatte ich SCSI zwar richtig, aber als Modul kompiliert, was natürlich Schwachsinn war, aber....alles im Lot! Danke! Peter.
