Hallo, 1. ich habe eine Vollinstallation mit SuSE6.0 gemacht inzwischen auf drei (eigenen) Rechnern. 2. In jedem Fall bring mc die beschriebenen Zeichen im Rahmen (falsch und invers) 3. Ein zwischenzeitlich installierter mc aus SuSE 5.3 zeigte diesen Fehler definitiv nicht ( dann wieder den neuen mc installiert - die Fehler sind wieder da ABER nun uebernimmt der mc immerhin die consolefonts aus yast, denn das tat er vorher auch nicht) 4. Nebenbei festgestellt: Die consolefont-Auswahl im neuen yast scheint etwas buggy zu sein. Wenn ich einige Fonts ausprobiere und gehe dann wieder auf 'kein Font' zurueck (da sollte doch wohl der Standardfont dahinterstehen, war jedenfalls bisher so) dann sehen die Rahmen in yast nicht mehr so richtig gut aus. Kann es sein das Du einen nicht Lateinischen Zeichensatz für die Konsole gewählt hast? Wie sieht yast aus? Auch so komisch? Dann wird es so sein.
Mit yast kannst Du die Konsolenfonts einstellen. Da gibt es alles mögliche. zB. auch amharische (äthiopische) Fonts. Die haben mehr Buchstaben, und belegen die Zeichen die sonst für Linien benutzt werden für ihre Buchstaben ode Sonderzeichen.

Meinst Du etwa die in der zweiten Zeile von oben ("<", "v" und ">")? Das sind Buttons, einfach mal draufklicken und staunen ;-) Der mc von SuSE 5.3 hatte das vermutlich nicht, weil er älter als der von der 6.0 ist. Das beschriebene Problem betrifft keinesfalls nur den MC. Ich hatte bis 5.3 immer "8x14 thin" als console font eingestellt. Sieht mE gut aus und funktionierte problemlos. Dann hatte ich ein Update auf 6.0 gemacht - mein Font blieb erhalten, alles soweit Paletti. Weil aber das Update _scheinbar_ in gewisser Weise schiefgegangen ist - ich konnte z.B. keinen neuen Kernel bauen: make irgendwasconfig in /usr/src/linux brach mit einer Fehlermeldung ab - habe ich dann alles plattgemacht und die 6.0 neu installiert. Die Font-Auswahl mit YAST war die erste rde berraschung. Bei _allen_ ausprobierten Fonts ausser ISO8589-1 waren die deutschen Umlaute und "Grafikzeichen" in den YAST-Mens durch wirres Zeug ersetzt. Ich nehme an, dass SuSE irgendwelchen Fehler gemacht hat <shrug>.
