hallo, ich habe mir die distribution vom ftp-server geholt und versuche nun, sie von festplatte zu installieren. die installation scheitert immer wieder daran, dass das istallationsprogramm nach hardwareerkennung, auswahl der partition, auf die installiert werden soll usw, die partition, von der ich installieren moechte, noch einmal im /mnt-zweig zu mounten. sie ist aber zu dem zeitpunkt bereits gemountet ('mount' zeigt sie IIRC unter /var/adm/extra und noch einem weiteren mountpoint an). (hatte ja auch schon daten von der festplatte in die ramdisk geladen). das tritt sowohl beim versuch, von einer vfat-partition als auch von einer ext2-partition (von der, auf die ich installieren moechte) zu installieren. wie weiter? martin

ich hatte das gleiche Problem mit der Installation, lösen lässt es sich auch IMHO momentan nicht. Mein workaround war eine Installation über einen 2. Rechner auf dem ich proftpd laufen habe. Eine Installation über Internet geht zwar auch aber der SuSE Server wird sicher ganz schnell zu sein wenn jede installation über FTP läuft Wo Du die FTP Installation findest siehe anderen thread Gruss Daniel
Hi, danke fuer die hilfe. hab es mittlerweile ueber ftp von meinem laptop installiert. ich habe die vermutung, dass alles klappen wuerde, wenn man von vornherein manuelle installation waehlt. ich hatte einfach installation gewaehlt, und zwischendurch hatte die installation sich selbst auf manuell umgestellt (nachdem ich irgendeine diskette, vermutlich eine, auf die die konfiguration gespeichert wird, nicht einlegen wollte). dabei wird offensichtlich vergessen, bereits (fuer die automatische installation) gemountete partitionen wieder abzuhaengen. und manuell umounten konnte ich nicht, weil die entsprechenden verzeichnisse in benutzung waren. danke nochmal, martin
