Sehe ich anders. Wenn es die Administration und damit das Ergebnis hinsichtlich Performance und Sicherheit erhöht, warum nicht? Die Server der letzten Jahre und natürlich auch die aktuellen sind allemal in der Lage, eine GUI zu fahren. Klar, bei Linux braucht man die nicht, weil alles in ASCII-Dateien konfiguriert wird, aber auch eine "Klicki-Bunti" kann wesentlich zur Administriebarkeit beitragen.
"Klicki-Bunti" sollte eine "kann"-Loesung sein. Wenn es Vorraussetzung ist, dann stimmt da was nicht.
Okay, falsch formuliert. Man kann natürlich auch ohne Klicki-Bunti alles unter MS konfigurieren, aber wer tut so etwas?
Intelligente Admins? Die z.B. nicht bei 10000 Maschienen überall das Gleiche Klicken wollen? M$ ist grundsätzlich was die Philosophie angeht doof. Unis und Novell haben das richtige Konzept. Auserdem warum kann man auf einer z/OS Machiene wohl keine Gui installieren?

Wenn ich will das ein System läuft lasse ich _keinen_ MCSE in die nähe. Ich bin selber M$ Zerifiziert und kenne _zuviele_ MCSE's um meiner Meinung nicht genügend beweisen zu können.
Bei Linux hab ich halt schoene, lesbare Config-Files, die teilweise dank der Kommentare schon selbsterklaerend sind.
Bei MS sind die Parameter oft (nicht immer) selbsterklärend, zur Not guckt man ins Handbuch.
Ich will mich jetzt nicht festlegen in diesem schwwarz-weiß-Streit um die Frage, welche System besser ist. Ich sage einfach mal, daß es je nach Aufgabe, die man bewerkstelligen will, das jeweilige System nutzt. Niemand wird eine Router unter Windows basteln, es wird aber auch niemand ein GPO-Management unter Linux nutzen wollen.
Die Frage ist, warum das ueberhaupt einer *will* ;-)

Nebenbei: Wäre MS nicht so wies ist, gäbs vermutlich gar kein Linux.
MS ist besser als sein Ruf, auch wenn's keiner glaubt (von dem Spielplatz-XP mal abgesehen)
Naja... das Sagen vor allem Consultants, die M$-Produkte nur Implementieren aber nicht ueber Jahre hinweg administrieren muessen... glaub mir, M$ ist in vielen Dingen sogar schlechter als sein Ruf ;-)

Consultants empfehlen grundsätzlich daß, was
a) hohe Lizenskosten hat b) im Moment gerade in ist.
Deswegen sollte man auf die nicht unbedingt hören

ZUm Glueck ist mir das bisher (weitgehenst) erspart geblieben.
Linus hat den Kernel entwickelt, weil im minix zu teuer war und er wissen wollte, was sein i386 alles kann. unzufrieden war er mit MS-DOS....
