Hallo Liste! Seitdem ich SuSE 8.0 installiert habe funktioniert kein telnet-Zugriff mehr. Ja, inetd läuft und der telnet-Service ist freigeschaltet.. Die genaue Fehlermeldung lautet: (von Rechner "lcars" nach "mutter")

telnet-server (Name des RPM-Pakets) installiert? Tipp: "pin in.telnetd" oder auch "pin telnetd" Schöne Grüße aus Bremen hartmut
Hallo Oli, wie sieht denn deine /etc/hosts.allow aus bzw. deine /etc/hosts.deny? Hast Du eventuell eine Firewall laufen? Achja und nimm ssh! Gruß Sebastian

Firewall.. Nur eine beim Router. Also nicht inter. Nur nach aussen zum I-Net. hosts.allow hat den Eintrag:
telnetd: ALL: ALLOW
Und die host.deny sieht so aus:
# /etc/hosts.deny # See `man tcpdŽ and `man 5 hosts_accessŽ as well as /etc/hosts.allow # for a detailed description.
http-rman : ALL EXCEPT LOCAL
Achja und nimm ssh!
lol, hab ich schon oft gehört ;) ICh weiss, dass telnet nicht wirklich als sicher bezeichnet werden kann. ;) Aber ich bruache es eh nur im privaten Netzwerk. Nach aussen wird das von der Router-Firewall abgeblockt.. Danke für den Tipp und natürlich für deine Hilfe.

Hallo Olivier, telnet ist seit 7.2 per default ausgeschaltet, weil Sicherheitslücke. Wenn Du unbedingt telnet willst dann mußt Du telnet in /etc/inetd.conf einkommentieren und rcinetd restart machen. Dann ist Dein Rechner aber verwundbarer wenn Du im Internet bist. Deshalb: nimm ssh wenn Du Dich auf lolli einloggen willst: ssh lolli Login-Name ist implizit er aktuelle. Oder ssh -l XX lolli Damit loggst Du Dich als Benutzer XX ein. Gruss Ekkard
