Vor allen Dingen war auch bei gutem Empfang selten mehr als 550KB/sec drin (bei 11Mbit) Bei uns wren es welche von ARTEM, die können in einem Gerät 2 Kanäle bündeln oder getrennt verwenden. War halt billiger als zwischen den Gebäuden eine Standleitung zu mieten.
Stell dir vor, Du hast auf dem Server einen User Otto (UID z.B. 600). Dann kommt jemand mit einem z.B. Schlepptop und hängt sich mit einer IP eines gültigen Rechners ins Netz. Dieser jemand erstellt bei sich einen User Klaus (UID auch 600) und mountet z.B. das exportierte /home. Und schon kann "Klaus" alle Files im /home von "Otto" lesen, schreiben und löschen.
OK... diese Situation haben wir hier nicht. Wenn Notebooks bei uns ins Netz integriert werden, dann haben wir die vorher mindestens einmal in der Hand gehabt...
Aber was ist mit den "bösen Leuten" die euch davon nichts sagen!
da wuerde lediglich helfen, etwa alle Platten mittels LVM zu einem LV zusammenzuhaengen... aber ich schaetze mal, Du hast einen guten Grund, das alles ueber mehrere mount-Points zu verteilen.
Schon mal an DNS (i.a. UDP port 53) gedacht ..... wird doch auch über die ganze welt geroutet!
War ja nie die Absicht, das NFS um die ganze Welt zu verteilen. Es ging nur darum auf einem Rechner hinter der Funkstrecke ein Linux schnell mal per NFS zu installieren. Mit schnell war dann aber nichts .....

Danke für den Tip mit einem mount via TCP, mußte ich gleich ausprobiren. Dadurch erreichte ich Über die 2 Router ´ne ganz gute Gechwindigkeit. 81.920.000 Bytes in 8,336 sec macht sage und schreibe 9,37 MByte/sec. :-) Dafür läuft´s im geswitchten Segment wesentlich schlechter als UDP. Jetzt stellt sich nur noch die Frage wie man das dem YAST Zwecks der Installation via NFS beibrigt.
Sicher laesst sich UDP grundsaetzlich routen, NFS ist aber fuer schnelle und gut verfuegbare Leitungen ausgelegt. Eben fuers LAN halt ;-)
Ich glaube mitllerweile aber sowieso eher, dass Dein Problem das WLAN ist...
Ich weiss jetzt nicht genau, was fuer Durchsatz Du mit anderen Protokollen gemessen hast, aber ich schaetze mehr als 15MBit/sec wirst Du ueber das WLAN nicht drueber kriegen. Und das waere schon ein verdammt guter Wert.
Wir haben mit ftp ca. 1,6 MByte/sec erreicht, aber es gig ja noch anderer Kram drüber! Wir haben auf der Funkstrecke keine Verschlüsselung laufen, da eigentlich nur uninteressante Daten direkt übertragen werden. Alles andere wird eh durch einen VPN-Tunnel geschickt.
