Hallo, wo zum Kuckuck bringe ich dem 8.0er System bei, Systemdienste - etwa Samba - zu starten? Die rc.config hat ja gar nichts mehr drin. Robert

Hallo, also nochmal: Ich hab den letzten Post, um den es hier geht bereits um 9:07 hier weggeschickt. Nachdem 10 Min nichts geschah habe ich nochmal eine neue Nachricht nachgeschickt. Ich habe keine Ahnung, warum und wo der Post hängengeblieben ist. Das mit dem YAST2 hab ich inzwischen kapiert. Danke. Im Handbuch und auch sonst stand nur ein allgemeiner Verweis zu insserv u. YAST2 - wo ich die Sache 'geblendet' eigentlich unter der sysconfig vermutet hätte und nicht unter dem Runlevel Editor. Jetzt hinten nach betrachtet ist es klar warum es da angesiedelt ist. Warum aber im Handbuch nicht zumindest dann steht, dass das jetzt in YAST2 unter Runlevel Editor zu finden ist oder nicht gleich in rc.config so drinsteht, kapier ich nicht - sorry. -rob

Bis zur 7.3 gab es in der /etc/rc.config entsprechende START-Variablen, die festlegten, ob ein Service beim Systemstart (wenn ansonsten alles entsprechend eingerichtet war) tatsächlich gestartet werden soll. Diese START-Variablen sind nicht LSB-konform und sind deshalb in der 8.0 nicht mehr da. Statt dessen werden die Startscripte (etwa /etc/init.d/smb) nur in die entsprechenden Unterverzeichnisse von /etc/init.d/ verlinkt. Am Beispiel von Samba: wenn du das Samba-Paket installierst gibt es erstmal keine Links. Durch den Aufruf von "insserv smb" bzw. den YaST2 Runlevel-Editor werden die entsprechenden Links angelegt: linux:/etc/init.d # find . -name "*smb" ./smb ./rc3.d/K14smb ./rc3.d/S10smb ./rc5.d/K14smb ./rc5.d/S10smb Nach welchen Regeln geschieht das? Nach welchen Regeln geschieht das? Um zu entscheiden, in welche Runlevel das Startscript standardmäßig installiert werden soll schaut "insserv" sich den "INIT INFO" Abschnitt des entsprechenden Startscripts an (siehe "man insserv"). So sehe ich das aber wirklich als Verbesserung, der Eintrag in der rc.config fand ich überflüssig, wenn ich doch mein Startscript im init.d abgelegt hatte mss das doch reichen! insserv werde ich mir gleich mal genauer anschauen!
