Soundcard all of a sudden doesn't work
Hi, I have SuSE 9.0 on a Toshiba Tecra S1 Laptop. I never expierenced any problems with my onboard AC'97 sound card. However, a few days ago my soundcard refused to work. I did not make changes to the system settings, nor did I install any software (I promise! ;-) Here's a piece of my /var/log/messages that shows the failure when trying to load the sound module at system startup. Maybe some of you can tell me, what's going on here and what I could do to make the soundcard work again: Jul 1 17:17:39 linux insmod: /lib/modules/2.4.21-144-default/kernel/drivers/char/sonypi.o: init_module: No such device Jul 1 17:17:39 linux insmod: Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters. You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg Jul 1 17:17:39 linux insmod: /lib/modules/2.4.21-144-default/kernel/drivers/char/sonypi.o: insmod char-major-10-250 failed Jul 1 17:17:42 linux kernel: PCI: Found IRQ 11 for device 00:1f.5 Jul 1 17:17:42 linux kernel: PCI: Sharing IRQ 11 with 00:1f.6 Jul 1 17:17:42 linux kernel: PCI: Sharing IRQ 11 with 02:04.0 Jul 1 17:17:42 linux kernel: PCI: Setting latency timer of device 00:1f.5 to 64 Jul 1 17:17:42 linux kernel: ALSA intel8x0.c:1968: AC'97 warm reset still in progress? Uups, sorry für das Englische Posting vorhin; hab die Liste mit der SuSE-Security Liste verwechselt, bei der ja in Englisch geposted wird... Antworten also gerne auf Deutsch. On Sunday 11 July 2004 16:52, Markus A. Radner wrote:

Neue Hardware, USB Stick beim booten eingesteckt o.Ä.? lspci sollte dir da evtl. weiterhelfen. Greetings Daniel -- Epiphany: Do you want fries with that project? Monday November 17th 2003
