Hallo an die Kommentatoren dieses Beitrages: 1. Ich schimpfe mich nicht (!) als DAU, obwohl ich nur rudimentär verstehe um was es bei Linux vielleicht geht! 2. Wenn ich ein Betriebssystem aufspiele möchte ich nicht 2/3 der Zeit mit rumfrickelei (herumbasteln) verbringen, sondern arbeiten! Ich jedenfalls würde gerne verstehen, wie man ein kleines Netzwerk aufbaut ohne gleich im Kauderwelsch der Computerwelt zu ertrinken, sondern vielleicht einmal Schritt für Schritt an Fehlerquellen vorbei ans Ziel gebracht zu werden... Warum muß man erst seltsame Schritte, wie make, make install etc... durcharbeiten, die erschreckenderweise immer ähnlich sind und nicht einfach ein Install-Programm starten können. Vor Vermüllung schützt eh nur ein ordnender Geist - so kriege ich jedenfalls nur mit viel Mühe einen ordendlichen Rechner aufgesetzt - aber wo bleibt der Spaß? Ob man DAU ist, oder nicht, hat nichts damit zu tun, was man weiß, sondern damit, was man wissen will. Was besagt dieses Semi? Wenn Du einen Rechner professionel nutzt, und Du der Systemadministrator bist, dann mußt Du Dich sehr gut mit dem System auskennen. Dann mußt Du Ahnung haben. Das kann man nicht in ein paar Tagen erwerben. Da braucht man schon Jahre für. Wenn Du nicht bereit bist, es selber zu machen, kein Problem, stell ein Sysadmin ein. Die wachsen zwar nicht auf den Bäumen, aber Du wirst schon einen guten finden. An einem System rumzumachen, ohne es zu verstehen bleibt Stückwerk. Man kann sich natürlich auch ein System einrichten lassen, etwa das vorkonfigurierte von SuSE, oder von Microsoft, und damit zufrieden sein. Wenn Du aber induviduell anpassen möchtest, dann brauchst Du einen Sysadmin. Das kanst Du selber sein, muß Dir dann aber auch das Wissen aneignen.

Warum sollen wir vorlesen? Glaubst Du allen Ernstes, wenn jemand eine Frage stellt, dann gibt es hier jemand, der sofort eine Antwort weiß, und sie einfach nur hinzuschreiben braucht? Meinst Du nicht auch, daß wir hier auch nachschauen müssen, und oftmals ausprobieren? Wir sind doch hier keine Dienstleister für Leute, die zu faul sind selber zu suchen. Wenn jemand bemüht ist, aber nicht weiter kommmt, den helfen wir gerne. Aber wenn von jemanden kein bißchen Eigeninitiative kommt, warum sollten wir den helfen? Wenn Du das arrogant findest, dann ist es einfach, daß zu ändern. Helf Du ihm doch. Du verlangst, ja richtig verlangst, von anderen, daß sie gefälligst kostenlos für andere arbeiten sollen. Ist diese Haltung nicht vielleicht arrogant?

Aber dazu habe ich wirklich nur Lust, wenn der Anwender sich dafür auch interessiert. Wenn er nur sagt, Danke und blöd abtippt, ohne Sinn und Verstand, dann habe ich ehrlich gesagt keine Lust. Es ist schön zu sehen, wie andere in einem System hineinwachsen, wie sie sich daran erfreuen, zu lernen und mehr wissen wollen. Dann hat man auch Lust, sich mit knifflige Dinge auseinanderzusetzen. Aber wenn man da nur eine wiederkäuende Masse sieht, dann geht man besser auf eine Wiese und beobachtet Kühe. Die sehen beim wiederkauen noch irgendwie nett aus.
5. Denkt vielleicht einmal daran, dass Leute vielleicht nicht die Zeit haben Linux herumdoktornd zu besuchen - das sind nicht alles ballerspielverseuchte pickelgesichtige Monster!
Dann sollen sie sich einen Sysadmin anschaffen. Wir sollen das umsonst machen, wo man viel Geld für zahlen sollte? Stellt mich ein, ich möchte auch meine Brötchen verdienen.

Ein Netzwerk aufbauen, ohne zu wissen, was TCP/IP ist, ohne zu wissen, was eine Netzadresse ist? Das kann aber nur ein vorkonfiguriertes Netzwerk sein, an dem man tunlichst nichts unvorgesehenes machen sollte.

Dafür gibt es viel zu viele Möglichkeiten.
Warum muß man erst seltsame Schritte, wie make, make install etc... durcharbeiten, die erschreckenderweise immer ähnlich sind und nicht einfach ein Install-Programm starten können.
Weil Du von den Quellen installierst. Nimm fertige rpm, und Du hast das Problem nicht. configure gibt es deshalb, weil die Programme nicht nur auf Linux und PC laufen sollen, sondern auch auf Linux und viele anderer Architekturen, über Mittelrechner bis hin zum Großrechner und nicht nur auf Linux, sondern auch auf andere UNIXe, wie etwa BSD, Solaris, HP_UX und AIX. Vieles soll auch auf Amiga, Atari, OS/2, Mac und/oder auch auf Windows laufen. Das ist aber nur möglich, wenn vorher ein configure gemacht wird. Was ist jetzt Dein Einwand? Bitte liebe Entwickler, entwickelt nicht mehr für eine RS/6000 oder für HP_UX, bitte denkt nicht an diese blöde Industieleute, sondern nur an die PC-Nutzer, und dort nur an Linux? Oder was meinst Du? Die Entwickler sind doch so nett, und machen auch rpm speziell für Linux. Nur machen sie das verständlicherweise nicht für jeden Entwicklungsschritt. Wenn Du beta-Software haben möchtest, dann mußt Du sie halt selber übersetzen. Und da können Fehler drin sein. Keiner ist perfekt. Vergleich doch mal mit Windows: Kann man da von den Quellen übersetzen? Bekommt man da recht stabile beta- oder gar alphasoftware, die man mal eben installieren kann? Ja, bekommt man, z.B wenn es sich im GNU-Software handelt ;) Aber dann muß man auch hier configure machen. Aber sonst? Du mußt fertige Software kaufen. Die ist dann leicht zu installieren. Die gibt es aber erst, wenn sie fertig ist. Beziehungsweise als fertig erklärt wurde. Wenn Du bei Linux nur fertige Software installierst, so kaufst Du Dir eine neue Distribution, und da ist alles drauf. Ganz einfach zu installieren. Wenn mal was nicht drauf sein sollte, dann zieh Dir ein rpm. Aber von CVS-Auszügen zu erwarten, daß sie leicht zu installieren sind ist doch wohl vollkommen daneben.

Du hast doch das Recht fünfmal nachzufragen, und wir haben das Recht fünfmal zu sagen: "Schau Dir die verdammte Manpages an." Und kapier doch endlich, daß das keine Schelte ist, sondern ein wertvoller Hinweis. Die Manpages sind doch wirklich nicht schlecht. Wenn ich was erkläre, dann hänge ich gerne ein man sowieso an. Was ist da schlimm dran? Hast Du was gegen Hinweise auf weiterführende Literatur? Oder sind Dir manpages nicht fein genug? Ein pures RTFM findest Du eigentlich sehr selten. Wenn allerdings jemand fragt, wie man bei ls auch die versteckten Dateien sehen kann, dann fragt man sich wirklich. Ich habe mir jetzt den Thread noch mal angesehen. Thorsten hat nett gefragt und hat nette Antworten bekommen. Es gab auch einen Hinweis auf Google. Aber das ist doch ein Hinweis und kein Abkanzeln. Ich finde es vollkommen in Ordnung, daß Thorsten gefragt hat, er hat auch wichtige Hinweise bekommen. Offensichtlich hat ihm das genügt. Wenn er irgendwo nicht mit klar gekommen wäre, so hoffe ich doch, daß er nachgefragt hätte. Was Du Thorralf willst, ist daß sich Spezialisten mit Deinen Problemen beschäftigen sollen, und das für Lau. Selbst wenn es einer machen wollte, es geht nicht. Wir können keine Ferndiagnose stellen. Was wir hier machen können ist, sich gegenseitig zu helfen. Und zwar mit Tipps. Es sind Tipps und keine Komplettlösungen. Der eine oder andere könnte als Komplettlösung bieten, so er dann Lust dazu hätte, "schreib mal ein shellskript, daß Tabelle so und so, auf dieser oder jener Art bearbeitet" Aber keiner ist dazu in der Lage, von hier aus Dein spezielles Netzwerk zu flegen. An einem System rumzumachen, ohne es zu verstehen bleibt Stückwerk. Leider verbreitet sich diese Einstellung immer mehr. Wir sind halt eine Konsumgesellschaft und keiner hat mehr Lust, etwas selbst zu tun. Sich an den PC setzen, Windows zu starten und dann darueber meckern, dass es irgendwas tut, was man gar nicht will, ist eben einfacher, als sich ein Linux nach eigenem Geschmack einzurichten, welches dann GENAU das macht, was man eingestellt hat. Alles muss in mundgerechten Happen serviert werden, moeglichst noch so weich, dass man nichtmal mehr kauen muss... ICH habe nicht das Gefuehl gehabt, dass man mir arrogant geantwortet hat. Ganz im Gegenteil, ich habe sehr nuetzliche Links bekommen, die mir ein ganzes Stueck weitergeholfen haben. Und... wenn ich eine Frage stelle, ohne vorher gruendlich drueber nachzudenken, nur weils eben einfacher ist, zu fragen...dann muss ich auch mit einem RTFM oder aehnlichem rechnen...das ist vollkommen in Ordnung.

*lol*... aber ACK Zu Thorralf.... ich denke, dass gerade die engagierten Leute (wie z.B. Bernd) hier eine Menge an nuetzlichen und hilfreichen Dingen schreiben. Ich lese seit geraumer Zeit immer wieder sporadisch mit und habe vieles ueber Linux alleine dadurch gelernt, dass es Leute gibt, welche ihre freie Zeit damit verbringen, UNS Newbies zu helfen und den Spass an Linux zu erhalten. Schau dir doch mal meinen anderen Thread ueber mein neues Board an...innerhalb von MINUTEN war die benoetigte Info da. Was will ich mehr (ausser vielleicht mal genauso gut zu sein und anderen helfen zu koennen)??

Ich kann hier nur den Linux-User 03/2002 oder das Suse 7.3 Handbuch ueber Netzwerke(n) empfehlen. Das schafft schonmal Grundlagen. Die Feinheiten und/oder Probleme kann man hier in der Liste diskutieren.

Wenn man fuenfmal fragen muss, dann hat man die Frage vielleicht nicht richtig bzw. nicht im richtigen Ton gestellt...

Wenn ich mir diesen Thread nochmal anschaue.... Ich finde es schade, mit welchem Ton hier miteinander umgegangen wird. Leute, denkt auch mal darueber nach, dass ihr den hier mitschreibenden und mitlesenden "Cracks" mit einer solchen Schreibe ziemlich auf die Fuesse tretet. Die Jungs und Maedels machen das doch wohl hauptsaechlich in ihrer Freizeit, wenn ich mir die Uhrzeiten mancher Postings anschaue!!! Denkt doch mal drueber nach...wenn die Cracks nicht mehr hier sind (und leider sind schon viel zu viele gute Leute wieder ausgestiegen), dann stehen wir anderen, die Hilfe brauchen mehr als doof da.
