Realtek RTL 8168 Netzwerkkarte

Hallo, ich habe hier einen PC mit einer Realtek RTL8186 Netzwerkkarte, die unter Vista 64 läuft. Unter Suse 11.0 32bit tut se nicht. Sie wird nicht erkannt, heisst in der Hardwareliste taucht sie nicht auf. Im Netz findet man einiges unter RTL 8186, doch ergibt sich kein einheitliches Bild. Hat jemand unter 11.0 Erfahrungen mit der Karte? Einmal heisst es, der Windowstreiber würde die Karte deaktivieren und ein anderes mal, man müsse nur die richitgen Treiber installieren. Dann heisst es mal, es hift die Suse 64 bit Version zu installieren und dann genau das Gegenteil. Ist etwas verwirrend. Ich kann im Moment nicht nachvollziehen, warum der Treiber nicht schon beim Booten geladen wird. Wenn wenigstens später beim händischen Start eine Fehlermeldung käme, dann hätte man vielleicht einen Anhaltspunkt, aber so !??

Hallo Joachim, wenn ich mich recht entsinne, habe ich mal gelesen, dass wenn Du den Treibernamen weißt ihn einfach mit dem Befehl modprobe (Treibername) in den Kernel verfrachten kannst. Schreib alias eth0 r8168 in ne Datei in /etc/modprobe.d/ (ggfs. z.B. 'net' anlegen oder so). Die in modprobe.d. Denn MODULES_LOADED_ON_BOOT ist nur ne Krücke.

Ich bin nicht der Experte für den Suse Bootprozess. Es scheint mir aber so, dass beim Hardwarecheck zu Beginn keine Netzwerkkarte gefunden wird. Bleibt die Frage warum. Im Internet gibt es einiges zum Lesen bzgl dieser Netzwerkkarte und vieles widerspricht sich. Eine Aussage ist, dass Vista die Karte beim Shutdown so schlafen legt, dass Linux diese nicht erwecken kann. Man müsste den Rechner komplett vom Stromnetz trennen. Dann würde beim Linuxbooten auch die Karte sich melden. Andere reden davon, sie nur mit 32bit und andere wiederum nur mit 64bit OS betreiben zu können. Bei mir meldet sie sich nicht, auch wenn ich mit Linux einen Kaltstart hinlege. Wenn der Bootprozess da ankommt, wo ifup die Netzwerkgeräte ans Netz bringt, kommt bei mir die Meldung "waiting for mandatory devices eth0 ..." Zu diesem Zeitpunkt gibt es lo, pan0, wlan0 aber kein eth0. eth0 ist in Yast so eingerichtet, wie ich es seit Jahren mache. mache ich per Hand ein lspci erscheint die Karte. Aber das ist nach Ende des Bootes. ich habe gerade bemerkt, dass irgendwas mit dem Treiber nicht stimmt. Ich habe den Treiber direkt von RealTek, weil der von SuSE nicht wollte. Lade ich nun diesen selbst erstellen Treiber mit insmod und dem Pfad auf das Erstellungsverzeichnis, wird das Modul geladen. Verwende ich modprobe kommt die Meldung, dass das Modul nicht existiert. Tut es aber. Es (r8168) liegt nach make install direkt neben r8169 in /lib/modules/2.6.25.16-0.1-pae/kernel/drivers/net mache ich ein modporbe r8169, dann wird's geladen. Warum will modprobe einen Treiber nicht, der im gleichen Verzeichnis liegt wie der andere? Beide haben gleiche Rechte. Ich habe beim Eintippen des Modulnamens auch den Expand mit <TAB> benutzt. Ist aber schonmal gut, denn das bedeutet, daß die Zuordnung von 'eth0' zum Modul r8168 funktioniert. Sobald das mit modprobe (s.u.) klappt sollte es dann "automagisch" beim booten / ifup funktionieren.

Ausgaben von: df -h /lib/modules/`uname -r`/ df -hi /lib/modules/`uname -r`/ ls -lh /lib/modules/`uname -r`/modules.dep Aber eigentlich hätte depmod dann meckern müssen. Ruf ggfs. mal 'depmod -vae' und 'depmod -aeu' auf (letzteres prüft ob alle Symbole gefunden werden, damit man die Meldungen sieht ohne '-v'). Achte beim depmod -vae auch darauf, welche Verzeichnisse da verarbeitet werden (sollte (IIRC nur) unter /lib/modules/`uname -r`/ sein). Eigentlich[tm] sollte das Modul ja gefunden werden. Gibt eigentlich 'uname -r' das gleiche aus wie 'cat /proc/sys/kernel/osrelease' (ich hoffe das proc-file gibt's noch)? Achso, und zeig bitte mal die Ausgabe von: egrep 'eth0|r8168' /etc/modprobe.conf* /etc/modprobe.d/* Zur Not könnte man noch den Holz-/Vorschlaghammer strace/ltrace auspacken, da könnte man sehen, wo modprobe überall (nicht) nachschaut (strace -o modprobe.strace -efile modprobe r8168), die Datei (modprobe.strace) aber bitte nur per PM und am besten gzip't. 16% der Partition belegt 10% der Inodes belegt und Datei existiert, ist -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 419K 29. Sep 17:51 /lib/modules/2.6.25.16-0.1-pae/modules.dep in dieser Datei kommt /lib/modules/2.6.25.16-0.1-pae/kernel/drivers/net/r8168.ko: sonst kein Eintrag bzgl r8168

... jetzt bleibt mir nur noch zu sagen gone with the wind... Auch nach einem Reboot ist die Karte noch da. Auch nach einem Reboot in Vista und zurückboot in Suse, Karte noch da! Irgendwas muss hier das Laden des Moduls blockiert haben. ?? Oder sie musste sich erst freibrennen ;-) Ich wende mich mal jetzt den anderen Baustelen zu und hoffe, dass diese Sache hier jetzt erledigt bleibt. Warum bei den ersten Versuchen modprobe nicht klappte weiß ich auch nicht, aber gut daß es jetzt funktioniert. Vielleicht lag's an der jetzt korrekt aktualisierten modules.dep. -dnh --

Nein. direkt nach dem Einloggen setze ich ein lspci ab und unter 02.00.0 findet er die Netzwerkkarte. Dann Modul laden und Karte mit ifconfig ans Netz. Ich denke mir mal, dass die Module beim Booten in Abhängigkeit eines Hardwraechecks zu Beginn geladen werden. Wenn bei diesem Check keine Karte gefunden wird, kein Modul. Irgendwann später "erwacht" die Karte und steht dann nach dem Einloggen voll zur Verfügung. Ich versuche mal in boot.local was reinzusetzen. Beim Rechner vorher musste ich auch auf diese Weise die WLan-Karte aktivieren.
