openSuSE 10.3 RC1 auf einem HP tc3100-Server
Hallo Liste, SuSE 10.0 ist für Ende November 2007 abgekündigt. Das habe ich zum Anlass genommen, die Updatefähigkeit einer bestehenden 10.0er-Installation auf openSuSE 10.3 zu testen. Das entscheidende Hardware-Merkmal des genutzten HP tc3100-Servers dürfte das HP Netraid Adapter 1M sein. An diesem Controller sind zwei 36 GB SCSI-Platten angeschlossen und zu einem RAID1 verbunden. Zwar wird der HP Netraid Adapter 1M beim Booten von der openSuSE-Installations-CD erkannt, der Treiber megaraid_mbox geladen und das unter reiserfs formatierte Dateisystem der 10.0er-Installation gemountet, ein zuverlässiger Lesezugriff ist aber nicht möglich. Auf Verzeichnis-Strukturen unterhalb des Wurzelverzeichnisses kann nicht zugegriffen werden. Weiterhin in diesem Rechner: Ein LSIlogic 53C1010-66 SCSI-Controller Ein Sil 3124 SataRAID-Controller Ursprünglich sollte auf der Kiste ein openSuSE 10.1 laufen. Da dieses den Netraid-Controller gar nicht erkannte, hatte ich mich damals für SuSE 10.0 entschieden. SuSE 9.3 und 10.0 hatten mit dem RAID-System keine Schwierigkeiten. Lediglich der Sil 3124 liegt bislang brach. Hat jemand eine Ahnung, wo das Problem liegt? - Treiber - Dateisystem ... Mit den gegebenen Infos duerfte kaum jemand helfen koennen, es sei denn er hat zufaellig genau die gleiche Hardware / OS Kombination. Gibt es denn irgendwelche Log-Auszuege oder Fehlermeldungen etc.? Wird dieser Netraid Adapter offiziell vom Kernel unterstuetzt? Mit der 9.3er und der 10.0er-Version von SuSE-Linux gab es keinerlei
Probleme. In der 10.1er wurde das RAID nicht erkannt.
Könnte es da "Verschiebungen" im Zuge der non-OSS-Bereinigung des
Kernels bzw. der Kernelmodule gegeben haben?

Mit den gegebenen Infos duerfte kaum jemand helfen koennen, es sei denn er hat zufaellig genau die gleiche Hardware / OS Kombination. Gibt es denn irgendwelche Log-Auszuege oder Fehlermeldungen etc.? Wird dieser Netraid Adapter offiziell vom Kernel unterstuetzt?

Interessanter waere das 10.3 Log, da dort ja der Controller anscheinend nicht korrekt funktioniert. Hast Du eigentlich mal in Novell's Bugzilla geschaut? Oder im Archiv der LKML?
Mit der 9.3er und der 10.0er-Version von SuSE-Linux gab es keinerlei Probleme. In der 10.1er wurde das RAID nicht erkannt. Könnte es da "Verschiebungen" im Zuge der non-OSS-Bereinigung des Kernels bzw. der Kernelmodule gegeben haben?
Hmm, kann ich nicht sagen. Wenn es in der Vergangenheit einen OSS Treiber gab, der funktionierte, waere es ja seltsam, wenn dieser entfernt wuerde. Es sei denn, es war frueher gar kein OSS Treiber sondern eine non-OSS Zugabe beim SuSE Kernel. Das weiss ich aber nicht, mit diesem RAID Controller hatte ich noch nie zu tun... Anybody?
