Hallo ! Da wäre mal wieder eine FRage , die eventuell bekannt sein könnte . Ich versuche mich mit cron . meine idee ist , mit x11amp eine art von wecker zu realisieren , da ich jeden morgen einen kampf mit den weckern und aufstehen führe . Also gehe ich laut linuxanwender handbuch vor , aber cron will nicht , es wird einfach nichts gestartet . ich habe in der /etc/crontab den entsprechenden eintrag gemacht . dazu auch mal neugestartet , aber fehlanzeige . danach mal mit dem crontab-commando das ganze nochmal versucht , mich über vi geärgert , und dennoch keinen erfolg gehabt . in deny oder allow sind auch in ordnung , laut handbuch . also meine frage : wie geht das . aber bitte keine verweise auf die man-pages , da hab ich schon nachgeschaut . meiner bescheidenen meinung nach sind die man-pages zum großteil nicht grade hilfreich , es sei denn , man sucht programmparameter . schon mal vielen dank für jeden hinweis Roland -- Um aus der Liste ausgetragen zu werden, eine Mail an majordomo@suse.com schicken, mit dem Text: unsubscribe suse-linux

Dann nimm Dir "man 5 crontab" als Bettlektuere vor, das ist lustig und anschaulich.

Das Angeben der selbst gemachten Schritte oder das Zitieren von Fehlermeldungen ? Beides kann man hier oefters abgucken.

Oder man weiss, WONACH man sucht (z.B. nach der cron-Konfiguration). BTW: Du moechtest nicht als Root unterm X mit Netscape mailen, oder Du siehst noch ganz andere Probleme auf Dich zukommen. Was hast Du denn eingegeben? So kann Dir wohl kaum einer helfen. Bei cron am besten alle Befehle und Dateien mit vollem Pfad. Also z.B /bin/date statt nur einfach date, da die Variable PATH nicht unbedingt gesetzt ist. Dafuer brauchst Du aber ein laufendes X. Es gibt allerdings bessere Wege, z.B. VigmeUp oder ein Kommandozeilen mpegplayer.

Du solltest fuer solche Dinge immer crontab -e verwenden, /etc/crontab nur fuer wirklich statische Dinge.

Trag ein: # X11Amp um 6:13 starten 13 6 * * * export DISPLAY=:0.0;/usr/X11R6/bin/x11amp natuerlich als der User, dem das Display gehoert. Aber wie gesagt, das ist keine gute Loesung. UUebrigens. Wenn Dir crontab/vi nicht passt, benutze einfach kcrontab. Das ist "einfach" zu bedienen. Oops. Habe gerade nochmal nachgesehen und gestaunt. Ich hatte bisher -display & Co fuer XLib-Parameter gehalten, aber die sind offenbar erst automatisch dabei, wenn man das Toolkit nutzt: locate libX11.so libXt.so strings /usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so | more (und "/-display") strings /usr/X11R6/lib/libXt.so | more (und "/-display")

Nun ja, cron hat feste ZEITEN, mit at koennte man ein RASTER (bei freiem Beginn) erhalten. Ob das fuer manche Situationen mehr Sinn macht, kann ich jetzt aus dem Stand nicht einschaetzen. Und dann kann man mit atrm "ausbrechen". Unklar ist mir, ob man einen at Job irgendwie "forcieren" (und damit einen Takt abkuerzen) kann. Es hat mich halt nur erinnert an signal(2). Ausserdem faellt mir gerade nicht ein, wie ich aus einem Script heraus ohne User cronjobs pflegen koennte. Und wenn ein Hack greifbar ist ...
