Samba: Serverseitiges Profil abstellen
Hallo Liste, wenn ich unter Samba eine NT-Domäne einrichte und Windows-Client daran anmelde wird das Benutzerprofil auf Serverseite gespeichert. Kann ich auf Samba-Seite diese Funktion abstellen? Gruß, Sandro

Das ist eigentlich auch der Sinn einer NT-Domäne. In größeren Netzwerken ist es durchaus sinnvoll, das die User zentral gemanaged werden und die Daten zentral vorliegen. Das ist eigentlich auch der Sinn einer NT-Domäne. In größeren Netzwerken ist es durchaus sinnvoll, das die User zentral gemanaged werden und die Daten zentral vorliegen. Ansonsten braucht man keine Domäne, wenn die User nur lokal eingerichtet werden sollen.
Domänen haben noch andere Vorzüge - nur das serverseitig gespeicherte Profil ist nicht unbedingt sinnvoll, wenn User an mehreren Rechnern arbeiten und diese unterschiedliche (Software-)Ausstattungen haben oder auch bei Notebooks, bei denen Profiländerungen nicht übernommen werden, wenn sie nicht am Netwerk angebunden sind. Bei Samba weiß ich es nicht, aber unter Windows XP kannst Du Client-seitig den Speicherort des Profils angeben.
