Da gibt es verschiedene Programme, die meisten haben ein 'Biff' im Namen (weiß der Geier warum), ich benutze GKrellM, weil es am vielseitigsten ist.

Unter Einstellungen-KMail einstellen-Verschiedenes gibt es ein paar Optionen, was zu geschehen hat, wenn eine neue Nachricht eintrifft. 'Display message box on new mail' macht ja vielleicht das, was Du willst. Wahlweise gibt's noch ein beep. Wäre mir aber auf die Dauer reichlich lästig - so bei mehreren hundert Mails täglich. Übrigens: Eines kann KMail auf jeden Fall - eine komplett neue Nachricht erzeugen! Du hast einfach nur eine vorhandene Mail gelöscht und da nun reingeschrieben - das erzeugt ein falsches Threading (weil Du nämlich die Headerinformationen der ursprünglichen Mail auf diese Weise nicht los wirst). Diese Methode einer neuen Mail ist ausgesprochen lästig, wenn man das Threading des Mailers benützt - und KMail kann das nun sehr gut. Helga

Was wäre denn mit kbiff? Das zeigt die Mails, wenn sie noch auf dem POP-Server sind. Ist bei SuSE im Lieferumfang.
