ich hatte den wwwoffle immer auf dem server laufen und dann im netscape den server:8080 eingestellt, damit lief es, warum sollte es nicht auch mit localhost gehen? Ich muß also statt localhost 8080, nun router:8080 eintragen? Richtig?
no, den rechner, auf dem der proxy laeuft, bei dir waere also localhost:8080 sein
Ich lasse masqerading beim booten starten, samt module. Bedarf es noch eine Eingabe/Start von masqer.??

das war bei mir mal das Problem (neben der fehlenden resolv.conf), du kannst irgdwo in der wwwoffle.conf einstellen, wer den proxy benutzen darf. Yup.
Wenn es so ist wie du sagst müßte alles laufgen nachdem ich mein Modem umgeklemmt und den Netscape und wwwoffle auf den client konfiguriere.

Wenn pings auf ip-adressen gehen, aber namensaufloesung nicht funktioniert, dann haengt meist irgendwo die resolv.conf, ist sie auf dem masquerading-server richtig? resolv.conf ist OK, wenn in beiden die DNS-Adresse des ISP stehen darf.

Also in der wwwoffle.conf den router angeben. Dann sollte es funzen.
