Kernel Panic (war: Fehlermeldung beim booten (Adaptec?))

Die Bootmeldungen des Kernels kannst du mit dem Kommando "dmesg" zurückholen ein "dmesg |less" macht es lesbar
da steht ne Menge drin, aber leider nicht die Fehlermeldungen wenn ich das System regulär starten will.
Alles was nach dem Start des syslog-Dienstes geschrieben wird steht in /var/log/messages bzw. /var/log/localmessages
da stehen die Fehlermeldungen nicht drin, bzw. die Datei ist leer.
Das "wohin" kann in /etc/syslog.conf eingestellt werden. Je nach Meldungsklasse gehen die Nachrichten auf ein Terminal oder in eine Datei. Aber für Deinen Adaptec ist dmesg die erste Wahl.
mhh, habe ich mit eben angeschaut. Aber die Logfiles, auf die dort verwiesen wird habe ich schon angeschaut. Leider ohne Erfolg. Mittlerweile habe ich das Problem beheben können. Als erstes habe ich den Adaptec in die Defauls zurückgesetzt, worauf die Fehlermeldung nur einmal kam und so zu lesen war. Der Adaptec teilte sich den IRQ mit dem USB-Kontroller. Nachdem ich den IRQ11 im Bios für ISA/PnP reserviert hatte, konnte ich wieder booten. Und das obwohl sich USB und Adaptec immer noch einen IRQ teilen, nur jetzt eben nicht den IRQ11 sondern den IRQ12. Das war übrigens die Fehlermeldung (gefunden in der boot.msg).
