ok dirk, i am sorry it has taken so long, but i have just put a patch into sane cvs to fix this issue. unfortunately, i dont have a flatbed machine to test with, so can you compile it and try it out?

well, on closer inspection, it seems that even the current cvs code may not help, since the page size does not apply to the flatbed code. i will need to correct the maximum scan area somehow. i will contact you again when i have something to test.

hmm, it seems that two bugs are at work here-
1. the 5220 has smaller maximum scan area when in flatbed vs adf 2. the backend code is allowing xsane to set the scan area larger than the page size.
#1 is hard to fix, i think #2 is already fixed in sane cvs. can you compile cvs version and see if that is enough to fix it?

Hallo Allan,
the log is in the attachment. If change the size of the prescan from full size to DIN A4
before running the prescan everthing works fine. Do you know how to make DIN A4 portrait the standard size for
hallo allan, I was away for hollidays so i took a time for my answer. i really want to try out the patch but I need a little help. I am not really familiar with cvs and compiling sane-drivers. What is to do to get the software and to compile it an OpenSuse 10.3? -- Dirk Am Donnerstag, 14. August 2008 schrieb m. allan noah: portrait prescan?
The tool-tip tells something about the context menu but I am not able to open the context menu.
