das update auf 7.1 hat hervorragend geklappt. der kernel 2.4.0 funktioniert auch hervorragend, bis auf folgendes problem: meine netzwerk fiunktioniert nicht mehr.
beim booten folgende meldungen (ausschnitt)

wenn ich den alten kernel 2.2.18 wieder hochboote, ist das netzwerk wieder da.
wer hat eine idee?
Lass mich raten: Du hast eine FastEthernet-Karte mit RealTek Chipsatz? Tja, deshalb habe ich in meinem Server jetzt meine 3com drin - und die RealTek in der Workstation. Allerdings habe ich seitdem auch noch kein Linux mehr gestartet (weiss also nicht, ob die karte im client läuft). IMHO liegt das an einem Fehler im Modul rt8129.o. Hoffe, da gibt es schnell ein Update von SuSE (oder halt Kernel selbst neu kompileren).
