jein (vorausgesetzt, du brauchst nicht spezielle HD-Treiber in der inittab)
Vielleicht hat ja schon jemand Erfahrung in so einem Fall gemacht Für evtl. Tipps und Ratschläge währe ich dankbar. Hier läuft SuSE 10.1 mit default-Kernel
Was kann dir passieren? a) dein Konfig passt nicht zum neuen Board; d.h. das du ggf. die Konfiguration für Sound, Netzwerk, Grafik (falls onboard) überarbeiten musst. b) der installierte non-smp Kernel nutzt nur einen Prozessorkern Aber das Basissystem wird normalerweise hochlaufen. (Ich hatte gerade aus hardwaretechnischen Gründen von einem PIV-3GHz auf einen P-II 450MHz upgraden müssen; Linux lief sofort hoch; über das andere bekannte BS hüllen wir lieber den Mantel des Schweigens!) Fahre das System sicherheitshalber im RL 2 oder 3 hoch und überprüfe (falls neue GraKa) dein X-Konfiguration. Alles andere kannst Du problemlos im laufenden Betrieb konfigurieren. Den SMP-Kernel kannst Du aber auch schon mit einem non-SMP Prozessor installieren; dann wird der X2 direkt mit beiden Kernen laufen.
