Ich hab /home auf einer separaten Partition und die bei der Neuinstalation einfach als Mountpoint angegeben und einfach wieder den User mit gleichem Namen erstellt. Das Homeverzeichniss wird dann übernommen.

Wahrscheinlich musst du noch auf die UserID's achten damit die Zugriffsrechte stimmen. Ich hab nur einen User drin.
das könnte zu Problemen führen.
mein Vorschlag: /home bei der Installation _nicht_ mounten, installieren, ggfs. mit Dummy-User /home manuell mounten (und in die fstab einbinden) Benutzer anlegen (mit den passenden UID und GID)
so kann ich mir das vorstellen. 1. Installieren (ohne das alte /home-Partition gemounted ist) 2. An entsprechender Stelle Dummy-User anlegen 3. Nach fertiger Installation entsprechende User mit UID und GID anlegen. 4. Mit Rettungssystem hochfahren und fstab anpasssen, Inhalt von /home der /-Partition kann evtl gelöscht werden. 5. System booten. Hat jemand Erfahrung, was mit den .xxx Verszeichnissen passiert, vor allem .kde? Gibt es da bei ersten Anmleden als User Knatsch, sollte man KDE im User-verzeichnis in disem Fall lieber neue erzeugen? -- Grüße Herbert
