Hallo, ich möchte ein paar Festplatten meinem bestehenden System hinzufügen. Diese sollen jeweils eine große Partition (File-System ext3) erhalten. Du kannst dir einen Namen ausdenken. Ich habe ganz viele partitionen und nenne sie z.B. '/sicherung' (betr. Meine Dateisicherung) oder '/work' (für die lfd. Arbeit usw.usw. Dabei ist es bei Linux übrigens egal, ob du das auf mehreren Festplatten oder nur auf einer Festplatte machst, weil Linux ja keine 'Laufwerke' im Sinne von Windows kennt. Du musst dann natürlich noch sicherstellen, dass alle user Zugriff auf diese Partitionen bekommen. Und das kannst du ja bei den 'Geräte'-eigenschaften (in diesem Falle also Festplatten-/Partitionseigenschaften) festlegen.
2.) Ist es sinnvoll. dies mit YAST2 zu machen oder
Meine Erfahrungen mit YAST2 sind sehr gut. Hardware wählen, Partionieren wählen und beim Einrichten der Paritionen auf jeden Fall einen Partitionsnamen vergeben (Eintragsfeld oben) und -ganz ganz wichtig- im unteren Eintragsfeld natürlich den Mountpunkt mit dem berühmten Schrägstrich (also '/work', '/sicherung' usw. gemäß meinen obigen Beispielen). Bewährt hat es sich bei mir übrigens, dann oben auch die Partionsnamen entsprechend zu vergeben (also 'sicherung', 'work' usw.). Und wenn du alles richtig gemacht hast, findest du deine Partitionen dann auch in der /etc/fstab wieder und kannst dort dann noch festlegen, wie du mounten willst (default = automatisch, noauto,user = mounten nach Wunsch durch Anklicken usw.)
sollte ich dafür ein anderes Tool nehmen?
Viele hier schwören ja auf das Konsolenwerkzeug fdisk. Ich selbst komme von Windows und bin dankbar für jede grafische Anwendung, wobei mir bewusst ist, dass vieles (und das ist hier in der Liste ja ein ganz richtiges Argument) auf der Konsole schneller ginge - was aber eben voraussetzt, dass man diese ganzen Befehle auch im Ärmel hat. Ich habe sie nicht :-) Mein Tipp also YAST2.
