Moin, ich versuche hier den Kernel 2.4.19 von Hubert Mantel zu benutzen (da in 2.4.17 das ppp-Filtering bei mir nicht funktioniert und meine DSL- Verbindung ständig offen gehalten wird. Mit 2.4.19 baut er sauber nach 5 Minuten Inaktivität ab). Der Kernel selber läuft und mein Rechner fährt (runlevel=5) sauber hoch. Vmware ist konfiguriert und wird gestartet. Versuche ich jetzt, eine meiner virtuellen Maschinen zu starten (die _alle_ mit Kernel 2.4.17 von Mantel einwandfrei laufen), erhalte ich nach kurzer Zeit einen Kernel-oops und es geht (fast) nichts mehr. Ich habe sowohl die Mantel-Kernel als rpm als auch einen selber kompilierten Kernel (aus den Mantel 2.4.19er sourcen) versucht. Immer mit dem gleichen Resultat. Kann hier jemand das ganze bestätigen? Oder mir sagen, wie man mit 2.4.17 das PPP-Filtering zum laufen bekommt? Für sachdienliche Hinweise wäre ich sehr dankbar, da ich eigentlich beides brauche (Dial-on-demad DSL mit Verbindungsabbau und vmware). Andreas PS: Falls es was nützt, kann ich natürlich den Auszug aus /var/log/messages zum Kernel oops posten, aber das wird den meisten hier (mich eingeschlossen) nicht wirklich was bringen.
