Nur erreichst du bei weitem nicht die Performance eines Switching-Hubs, da dieser ja mit spezialisierter Hardware switcht. Daher solltest du eher "routen" sagen statt "switchen", denn genau das macht Linux. Mit einem Router erreichst du, daß OSI Layer 2 Broadcasts zwischen den Segmenten gefiltert werden, was Traffic vermindert (Router arbeiten auf OSI Layer 3).
