Und o Wunder, dieser Treiber funktioniert auch mit meinem Kontroller, wenigstens teilweise, (auch wenn der schlechte, interesselose Highpoint- Support dies nicht weis oder nicht wissen will).
Ich kann den Treiber bei der Installation auf dem bestehenden Raid mit F6 einbinden, partitionieren und opensuse 10.3 installieren.
Aber nach dem reboot wird offensichtlich die / Partition nicht gefunden.
Meldung : Could not find /dev/sdb10 Want me to fall back to /dev/sdb10 (y/n) nach der Bestätigung mit y folgende Meldung: Waiting for device /dev/sdb10 to appear.......not found exiting to /bin/sh sh: no job controll in this shell
Glücklicherweise kann ich mich einlogen über das booten von der DVD unter Einbindung des Treibers mit F6 (Floppy), dann -->weitere Optionen, ---> installiertes System booten. Nur ist das auf Dauer unbefriedigend.
Offensichtlich wird dieser Treiber nicht eingebunden. Ist Grub daran schuld? Aber /sdb10 wird ja beim booten gesucht???? Merkwürdiger Weise wird ja die / Partition über "Installiertes System booten" mit der Installations DVD gefunden, aber beim normalen booten nicht! Was läuft falsch?
Übrigens habe ich das selbe Problem auch bei der versuchten Installation mit opensuse 10.2 und dem dafür empfohlenen Treiber von Highpoint.
Beim Booten des Systems werden einige Module direkt geladen, die für den weiteren Start des Systems erforderlich sind. Dies ist mit dem Modul für deinen Raidcontroller nicht geschehen. Also musst du mkinitrd sagen, welche Module eingebunden werden sollen. /etc/sysconfig/kernel: INITRD_MODULES="ata_piix aic7xxx sym53c8xx DAC960 processor thermal fan reiserfs edd piix" Vergleiche, welche Module bei dir stehen und füge das Modul für deinen Raid-Controller dazu, dann führe "mkinitrd" aus. Dies muss übrigens JEDES verdammte mal gemacht werden, wenn ein Kernelupdate herauskommt. Also besser einen Controller nehmen, der vom Kernel direkt unterstützt wird, du sparst dir eine Menge Ärger im Laufe der Zeit. -- Sandy Antworten bitte nur in die Mailingliste!
