Dann hast Du einen Riesenvorteil: Viele lesen erstmal gar nicht und fragen erst hinterher. Du weisst also, dass man sich schon vorher selbst umsehen kann -- das ist GUT :)
Mit Erstaunen musste ich feststellen, dass "selbst" unter Linux nicht alles laeuft, oder zumindest recht "kompliziert" zum Laufen zu bringen ist.
"Von selbst" rennt unter allen mir bekannten Systemen nichts. Und keines kann alles, einen Wolpertinger gibt es nun mal nicht. Was ich an UNIX immer wieder gut finde ist, dass WENN ich mal Sonderwuensche habe, ich die dem System gegenueber auch formulieren kann und bedient werde. Die Konfiguration ist zugegebenermassen komplex, aber nicht unbedingt kompliziert. Ein grober Ueberblick aus einem UNIX-Kurs oder einem guten Buch ist hilfreich und bei konkreten Problemen auch Dok im REICHLICHEN Masse verfuegbar (das ist eher das Problem: dass man manchmal erschlagen wird statt zu verhungern :). BTW wuerde ich als Ahnungsloser auch mit einem Windows nicht klarkommen, ganz ohne Aufwand geht's nirgends. Vielleicht ist Windows nur verbreiteter und deshalb bekannter ? Ich sehe die Unterschiede in der Art: Bei einem Windows schlage ich bei entsprechenden Anspruechen irgendwo an einer Grenze an, die mir der Hersteller setzt. Da muss ich zurueckweichen und mit dem zufrieden sein, was man mir zugesteht. Bei einem UNIX ist das einzige Hindernis meine eigene Dummheit, und diese Grenze kann man verschieben :)
Einerseits ist es schon interessant, und hilfreich die ganzen Artikel, Fragen und Antworten zu lesen. Etwas verunsichert bin ich doch ... angesichts der vielen "Probleme", die wohl doch des oefteren auftreten.
Der ueberwiegende Teil reduziert sich auf FAQs oder ist mit RTFM zu loesen. Eine andere Gruppe ist "Unter Windows mache ich's so, unter Linux geht's nicht" -- ein typischer Fall von dem System unangepasster Arbeitsweise. Man muss einfach akzeptieren, dass ein UNIX was anderes ist und eine andere Philosophie hat. Wenn man die annimmt, kriegt man andernorts unerreichbare Effekte ... Und Du wirst hier auch nur viele Screiben sehen, wenn was NICHT geht. Was alles so funktioniert (und mit welcher Bravour), davon hoerst Du hier nichts (oder es scheint nur in den Antworten durch).
Als Linux-Anfaenger (will mit 6.0 gerade mal anfangen) war mir schon von vornherein klar, das Linux nicht jedermanns Sache ist, nur etwas pflegeleichter haette ich es mir schon vorgestellt.
Fang noch vor dem Einlegen der CD an, durch das Handbuch zu blaettern. Die Leute haben eine Menge Arbeit investiert und ich verstehe ehrlich gesagt nicht, wenn jemand ohne irgendwelche Kenntnis ein vollkommen neues System installieren will und sich hinterher wundert, warum's nicht geht. Viele Probleme treten erst gar nicht auf, wenn man sich vorher ein wenig umsieht ... Vielleicht wird man nicht so gehaetschelt wie anderswo, aber beim Einlullen ("bloss nicht den User aufregen oder verunsichern") gehen immer Informationen unter. Eine Meldung der Art "Da stimmt was nicht, frag den Admin" hilft dem User nix, wenn der Admin auch nur erfaehrt "Da stimmt was nicht". So gesehen helfen klare Aussagen der Analyse mehr. Das finde ich "pflegeleicht". Und die verfuegbaren Werkzeuge unterm UNIX sind so scharf, dass man sich bei leichtsinnigem Umgang schnell mal schneiden kann. Das ist der Preis der Macht, die man erhaelt :) Und selbst ueber Intuitivitaet bin ich bereit zu streiten -- ich finde eine Kommandozeile extrem intuitiv. Eine bunte Oberflaeche oder die Mausunterstuetzung allein sind nicht die Kriterien, fuer mich zaehlen erwartungsgemaesses Verhalten und aussagefaehige Meldungen im Fehlerfall mehr als "huebsch anzusehen".
BTW, vom Vorhaben, Linux anzuschaffen, bin ich wahrscheinlich sowieso nicht mehr abzubringen ;)
That's the spirit :> Nimm die gebotenen Informationsquellen wahr und suche Dir am besten Leute in Deiner Umgebung, die Du auch persoenlich zum Thema interviewen kannst. In einer Gruppe macht Linux nochmal so viel Spass. Und was man da alles entdecken kann ... Unis bieten hier ein ideales Umfeld: Die URZs bieten Kurse und Unterstuetzung, viele Studenten haben kein Geld fuer komerzielle Software und kennen vor allem auch freie Alternativen.
Aber ist es wirklich so kompliziert ?
Nein, nur neu und anders, wenn Du vorher nie ein UNIX gesehen hast. Aber die Zeit, die Du in den Einstieg investierst, kriegst Du an Stabilitaet und Flexibilitaet wieder. Und hinterher wirst Du nicht zurueck wollen. Oder Du merkst, dass das doch nicht Dein System ist (sowas gibt's und ist auch nicht schlimm). Auf jeden Fall kanst Du's erst einschaetzen, wenn Du's selbst durch hast. Vom Hoerensagen kann man schlecht mitreden. Und was andere sagen, muss nicht unbedingt Deine Meinung sein (mein mittlerweile langes Pamphlet uebrigens auch nicht ...).
