Nein. Durch allerlei Updates und Reparatur. Ja, ich war ungeduldigt und auf dem Trip »Gucken-wir-mal-was-passiert-wenn-man-mal-auf-ein-Knöpfchen-drückt«, natürlich ohne in ein Handbuch zu gucken oder vielleicht vorher mal Google zu bemühen.
Kernel 2.6.32-rc5-git3-1-default startet nur im Failsafemode. Dann ist leider auch die Auflösung von 1440x900 meines Bildschirms im Eimer. Umstellen läßt sich das nicht mehr.
Das hab ich in letzter Zeit schon öfter gehört mit dieser Kernelversion, wo habt ihr die alle her?
Das war Factory. Vielleicht waren andere auch ungeduldig und konnten 11.2 nicht abwarten. (Mein Grub-Menü präsentiert mir auch strahlend Suse 11.3 ;)).
Der 'normale' Kernel hängt sich bei der rtc auf. Da geht dann nichts mehr.
Dieses Problem habe ich immer noch. Factory rausgeworfen und alles mal auf Kernel 2.6.31 gesetzt. Die letzte Meldung, die ich auf der Konsole lesen kann: rtc0: alarms up to one day, 114 bytes nvram Und dann geht's einfach nicht mehr weiter. Tastatur ist auch weg. Da hilft nur der Resetschalter. Die Failsafe-Variante dieses Kernels startet dagegen anstandslos. Nur die 800x600 ist das grausig. Arbeite jetzt eben mit ssh -X auf einem anderen Rechner. Stört sich der Kernel eventuell an einer matten Pufferbatterie? Bisher war es so, dass das nicht sonderlich gestört hat, falls es mal wieder so weit war.
Der Vorläuferkernel 2.6.31 lud nur ebenfalls nur eine Minimalumgebung; Netzwerk funktionierte nicht; Grafik gab's gar nicht. Mit dem nvidia-Treiber hatte ich allerdings Grafik. Die paßt aber nicht zum ganz neuen Kernel. Netzwerk tat aber auch dann nicht.

Ich habe mir das nvidia-Repo eingebunden und daraus das passende Paket ausgesucht. Das hat auf den Vorläufer-Susen, die auf dem Rechner drauf waren, gut funktioniert. Bei der 11.2 keine gute Wahl mehr? (Mit der Hand möchte ich den Kram nicht wirklich pflegen müssen). Nachtrag: Ich habe jetzt gepflegt geschummelt. Den Failsafe-Eintrag kopiert, um die Einträge für X erleichtert und in die menu.lst gehängt. Und siehe da, jetzt gibt's keinen Stop mehr und das System sieht erst mal voll arbeitsfähig aus. Ich wüßte aber trotzdem, warum der Defaulteintrag im Grub nicht funktioniert.
