On Thu, Jul 29, 1999 at 08:20:02PM -0600, Andreas J. Guelzow spoke across the net: | I have some problems getting Wordperfect to work: | | I installed the wp rpm[...] | (All of the above as root.) | As user 'aguelzow' I start /opt/wp/wpbin/xwp. Wordperfect starts fine but | gives me a bunch of error messages that ~/.wprc/wp8x.set is already opened by | another user. Hmm, it's been ages since i used WP, but IIRC i had to do most of the install as a 'normal' user, 'cause it's only a single-user version. I did it with the download-version, i dunno how to proceed with an rpm-install. Anyway, there is one user, that can use WP, and 'cause you did it as root WP only wants to be used as root :-( Funny thing, parts of the setup for e.g. printers still have to be done as root... Your probs are not new; but so far i only heard about tarfile-installs. Sure SuSE didn't put a hint in the Support-Database ? Good Luck ! -- Gruss / with best regards Jens-Eike Jesau <jens@hp9001.fh-bielefeld.de> /* `v'- Home: hp9001.fh-bielefeld.de/~jens || |`.
