habe diese anpassungen in meiner /etc/httpd/httpd.conf vorgenommen und beim aufruf der site kommt jetzt auch der dialog zur abfrage von user und password. doch bei der anmeldung eines users der in der .htpasswd eingetragen ist erscheint die meldung "Zugangsberechtigung verweigert.", brech ich ab erscheint noch: Authorization Required This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required.
