Nachdem SuSE und RedHat erhebliche finanzielle Mittel im OpenSource-Umfeld investieren, könnten diese 5000-7000 US-$ doch eigentlich nicht besser angelegt werden? Wenn ich z.B. das Engagement für XFree86 betrachte, kommt mir ein solcher Betrag echt vor wie "Peanuts".
Das ist sicher eine praktische Lösung und wäre für die genannten Distributoren sicherlich leicht zu bezahlen. Aber dann kommt Unisys ja mit ihrer Masche durch und das Beispiel würde Schule machen. Demnächst gibt's dann Libraries und Treiber nur noch, wenn ein Distributor eine fette Lizenz bezahlt? Nö, dagegen.
