lt. Documentation/devices.txt ist die Anzahl der Partitionen auf SCSI Disks auf 16 beschränkt und bei IDE Disks merkwürdigerweise auf 64. Dann muß ich wohl die 80 GB auf mehrer Host Devices aufteilen. Denn der Informix Datenbank kann ich maximale Chunks von 2GB zuteilen.
Das mit den Partitionen kommt auf den Treiber an, ich kenne jetzt nur den DAC960 und da ist es dann kein SCSIdevice mehr, sondern ein Blockdevice, normalerweise zB. /dev/sda1 beim Raid schauts aber so aus: /dev/rd/c0d0p1 der rest steht hier: http://www.dandelion.com/Linux/README.DAC960 (ab zeile 62) Das kann sich aber durchaus von anderen Raidcontrollern unterscheiden ! Ich sehe gerade das die GDT-treiber unter SCSI sind, dann könnte es schon sein, das das Raid im System als ganz nomale Scsiplatte auftaucht (sda), da kann ich dann aber nicht mehr weiterhelfen. Was ich damals gemacht habe, war nur ein ganz normaler Fileserver, deswegen auch (fast) alles in eine Partition.
Kann ich größere Partitionen als 2GB für Dateisysteme anlegen? Mir ist klar, daß die maximale Dateigröße innerhalb auf 2GB beschränkt ist, aber Partitionen können doch hoffentlich größer sein.
geht natürlich grösser, hab schon eine mit über 30 GB angelegt, dauert dann halt entsprechend.
auch die kompletten 80 GB sind kein Problem.
