Mit Erstaunen musste ich feststellen, dass "selbst" unter Linux nicht alles laeuft, oder zumindest recht "kompliziert" zum Laufen zu bringen ist.
Es wird niemals ein System geben, das voellig problemlos alle Wuensche der riesigen Anwendergemeinde ohne Schwierigkeiten meistert. Weiterhin sollte man eine gewisse Relation vor Augen haben, wenn man sich mit solchen Dingen beschaeftigt. Linux bietet dem Anwender gegenueber vielen anderen Betriebssystemen fast unueberschaubare Moeglichkeiten, jegliche Systemaktivitaet zu ueberwachen und eigenen Wuenschen entsprechend anzupassen. Wo der Anwender bei "bekannten" Systemen passen muss, weil ihm die Information fehlt, derartige Dinge zu verwirklichen, faengt bei Linux der Spass erst so richtig an. Dieser Reiz ist es wohl, der die vielen Pinguine befluegelt, sich an Konfigurationen zu versuchen, die ihnen entweder bisher voellig unbekannt waren oder die einfach nur dazu dienen, die persoenliche Note im Umgang mit ihrem Hobby ebenfalls verwirklicht zu sehen.
Etwas verunsichert bin ich doch ... angesichts der vielen "Probleme", die wohl doch des oefteren auftreten.
Viele Probleme entstehen einfach nur dadurch, dass der Anwender nicht bereit ist, umzudenken und glaubt, irgendwelche bisher bei einem Singleusersystem gesammelten Erkenntnisse in aehnlicher Weise zwingend verwirklichen zu muessen. Linux laesst sich heute ebenso einfach installieren und bedienen, wie die bekannten grafisch orientierten Produkte aus dem kommerziellen Bereich. Nachdem irgendwann erkannt wird, dass es da aber noch viele weitere Moeglichkeiten gibt und der Bastelwut kaum Grenzen gesetzt sind, gibt es erste frustrierende Erlebnisse auf Seiten des Anwenders. Im Gegensatz zum Bekannten gibt es unter Linux keine Kompromisse, die letztlich zu einem unstabilen System fuehren. Jegliche Veraenderung am System zeigt mit schonungsloser Offenheit die Probleme auf, die bedacht werden muessen und ueberfordert damit den Anwender, der nicht bereit ist, sich derart intensiv mit seinem System zu beschaeftigen, dass er die Hintergruende versteht.
Als Linux-Anfaenger (will mit 6.0 gerade mal anfangen) war mir schon von vornherein klar, das Linux nicht jedermanns Sache ist, nur etwas pflegeleichter haette ich es mir schon vorgestellt.
Linux bietet seit Jahren eine sehr stabile Arbeitsumgebung und die Distributoren haben grosse Anstrengungen unternommen, dem Anwender weitgehend alle Konfigurationsarbeit derart zu erleichtern, dass er zu Anfang kaum bemerkt, wieviel Arbeit sich dahinter verbirgt. Wer sich jedoch tiefergehend mit seinem System beschaeftigen moechte wird oftmals recht schnell feststellen, dass er mit seinem bisherigen Wissen hoffnungslos ueberfordert ist. Es gibt keine springende Bueroklammer, die sich nach mehreren Mausklicks dann in einem Dialog verfaengt, der darauf zielt, den mehr oder weniger kompetenten Support in Anspruch zu nehmen, nein, hier wird vom Anwender schlicht und einfach erwartet, dass er sich mit der reichlich vorhandenen Literatur und der Dokumentation seines Systems auseinandersetzt. Wer sich dieser Gegebenheiten bewusst ist, der wird viel Freude mit Linux haben und mit einem sehr stabilen und leistungsfaehigen System belohnt werden. Viele der hier gestellten Fragen sind einfach das Resultat von Leuten, die experimentierfreudig sind und gerne etwas mehr mit ihrem System machen moechten, als Otto Normalverbraucher. Entsprechend sollte man diese Mailingliste als Einsteiger betrachten. Probleme bereitet man sich oftmals nur selbst. - Aber wie oede waere ein Leben ohne den Reiz, diese Probleme zu loesen.
vom Vorhaben, Linux anzuschaffen, bin ich wahrscheinlich sowieso nicht mehr abzubringen ;) Aber ist es wirklich so kompliziert ?
