Chunk = Tablespace ? (keine Informaix Erfahrungen) Nimm doch einfach ne ganze Partition als Tablespace. Dann hast du kein Filesystem mehr dazwischen. Die datenbank cacht eh besser. Da sollten sich (fast) beliebig grosse Partitionen machen lassen. Du kannst ja später Partitionen zum Tablespace hinzufügen. Wenn es uebers Filesystem gehen soll, dann deaktivieren caching fuer die mounts
Bei Informix kann ich in einem Online System eine Anzahl von DBSPACES einrichten. Jeder dieser DBSPACE besteht aus Chunks. Diese Chunks können entweder Dateien oder aber auch ganze Partitions sein. Aufjedenfall sind die Chunks aber auf maximal 2 GB beschränkt. Bei 30GB Datenbankgröße müßte ich also 15 Partionen nehmen. Da aber lt. Documentation/devices.txt maximal 16 Partitionen pro SCSI Disk möglich sind, muß ich wohl die 80 GB in mindestens 2 Host Laufwerke aufteilen.
