A couple of Chinese dialects are professionally translated and tier1 languages, meaning it's included on the base cds. Hi Martin, here are some countries, which take part in the one laptop per child project (laptop.org) and some which are developing countries in Afrika and Asia with a higher population. I compared the existing of their language for the wiki and for the DVD-ISO. MOST DEVELOPED LANGUAGES FOR OPENSUSE http://i18n.opensuse.org/stats/openSUSE-10.2/toplist.php MOST USED LANGUAGES BY POPULATION http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bild:Sprachfamilien_der_Welt_(non_Altai).png THE RESULT IS: We need Translations in Chinese (already done in iso, wiki done, needs to be published on Homepage) and then in: - Hindi for India - Afro-Asiatic for Afrika Nord - Niger-congo for Afrika Middle - Arabic for several countries in th Arabic world - Indonesia - Pakistan This means: (CHINESE;) HINDI; AFRO-Africa, ARABIC I suggest, there is an empty wiki to be set up to be filled in. Then maybe Novell can additionally employee 3 Persons from India, Afrika and Arabia to do the basic translations for one year. This investment is needed, to get 2000 Million target groups. Thanks!
