[opensuse-translation] Translation of openSUSE License - changes
Hi, We've made the following change to the openSUSE license for the next release - could you help me to change the other languages the same way, please? Please send me via email the new version of the license. Let me double check this - so you might want to wait with translation...
A translation of a legal document made by amateurs like us can never be legally binding. In my country, there is a special type of tranlator, called "sworn translator", which are entitled to do legally binding translations. http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traducci%C3%B3n_jurada http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Translating_for_legal_equivalence Then, there is the added problem of what is legally aceptable on each country in questions like licenses and such. Yes, there should be - thanks a lot for asking: Use the following: This is an unofficial translation of the openSUSE #VERSION# license into $LANGUAGE. It does not legally state the distribution terms for openSUSE #VERSION# - only the original english text of the openSUSE #VERSION# license does that. However, we hope that this translation will help $LANGUAGE speakers understand the license better. And replace $LANGUAGE with your language.

Andreas, I kindly ask to double-check the text you applied, since those new edits are not done by english native speaker or are severely broken. There are three edits: items (b) and (e) of US law requirements and a year numbers in copyright disclaimer. The last one is easy, only numbers have changed, but text items are corrupted in both legal and linguistical ways: If i agree to that license, I claim that, according to (b) statement, I AM NOT "located in a prohibited destination country" and, in the same time, I AM "specifically prohibited under the EAR or US sanctions regulations". Those two parts contradict each other in terms of exclusive logic. According to (e) statement I claim that I "understand and agree that" (due to EAR 741.17e) I "will" "understand" <smth about other countries>. According to (e) statement I claim that I "understand and agree that" (due to EAR 741.17e) I "will" "understand" <smth about other countries>. In old version I needed to file BIS reports twice a year due to the same regulation (EAR 741.17e).

This does not exclude each other By this statement we need to ensure that user is NOT under US law restrictions: not in prohibited country and not under sanctions. The current text negates the second part, so we have that user IS NOT in

The attachment contains the complete text, I wanted to point out the difference. Right now, we do not have a Greek translation at all of the license - and we like to have somebody translate the license that is really capable of translating legal texts.
