[opensuse-translation] Opensuse: Translation to Kichwa
Hi! I would like to start a new translation for OpenSuse: KICHWA. Kichwa has almost 3 million of speakers in Ecuador, Colombia and Perú. An official and standardized language with a unified orthography (Shukyachiska Kichwa) has been developed by the government and it s our first reference for this work. What do I need to start a new language project? My email is: alexis@persuativa.com My account in Novell is: alexisolivo. My name is Alexis Javier Olivo Páez. Thanks! Thanks for your offer, Alexis! First, we must check whether openSUSE is properly prepared to support the Kichwa language (ISO-639-1: qu). Andreas, does (our) glibc support Kichwa? If not, what would be required to add the qu_EC locale? -- Karl Eichwalder SUSE LINUX Products GmbH R&D / Documentation Maxfeldstraße 5 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-translation+owner@opensuse.org

I'm confused. Should not UTF-8 be used? :-? - -- Cheers, Carlos E. R. Sure, UTF-8 is the default encoding for all our translations files. But 'qu' is the ISO-639-1 language code for the Kichwa language. -- Karl Eichwalder SUSE LINUX Products GmbH R&D / Documentation Maxfeldstraße 5 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-translation+owner@opensuse.org

Submit it upstream, see <http://sourceware.org/glibc/wiki/Locales>.
