[opensuse-translation] weblate: planning outage (update to weblate-3.6.1 and openSUSE Leap 15.1)
Hi. As you might see in the OBS repository[1], we made a big step forward in the integration of Weblate to the openSUSE. Most of needed packages are now present in the openSUSE Leap 15.1. Now we have successfully tested Weblate-3.6.1 on openSUSE Leap 15.1. There are major improvements in then new Weblate version. Especially background processing of changed files is faster and more reliable. We plan to perform update early after the openSUSE Leap 15.1 release. Please let us know if you have some plans that may collide with the outage. Expecting outage less than 2 hours. Dear Stanislav, If planned outage is so short, why not update right now? Release is around the corner already, so new translations made now are not in this release anyway. Maybe this update will finally kick update-desktop-files-yast to properly merge... пт, 17 мая 2019 г. в 19:54, Stanislav Brabec <sbrabec@suse.cz>:

openSUSE Leap 15.1 is not yet out officially. It's better to wait for its official release, so servers will be ready for sure.
Maybe this update will finally kick update-desktop-files-yast to properly merge...
Not yet. But it should be faster, and it has improved configuration of the celery background task management. As a result, the race window for the conflict should be much shorter. Ludwig Nussel is working on a solution for automatic conflict solution: Different po file merge strategy for git. It should solve nearly all possible conflicts. -- Best Regards / S pozdravem, Stanislav Brabec software developer --------------------------------------------------------------------- SUSE LINUX, s. r. o. e-mail: sbrabec@suse.com Křižíkova 148/34 (Corso IIa) tel: +420 284 084 060 186 00 Praha 8-Karlín fax: +420 284 084 001 Czech Republic http://www.suse.cz/ PGP: 830B 40D5 9E05 35D8 5E27 6FA3 717C 209F A04F CD76 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-translation+owner@opensuse.org
openSUSE Leap 15.1 and weblate-3.6.1 are finally deployed. However the outage was pretty short, we faced problems with processing of background tasks. Problems in weblate-3.3 caused re-scheduling of all missed tasks. It caused a queue congestion that could take ~1 month to process. As a result, we had to purge the whole queue. This step could have an unwanted side effect: If you subscribed to an e-mail notofication, your notification may be lost. It is valid especially for changes from between 2019-05-15 to 2019-05-24. If you encounter any unexpected delay in pulling of GitHub changes (Weblate shows the old contents more than 1 hour after big change in GitHub, Weblate pushes your edits after more than 2 hours), please let me know.
