[opensuse-translation] My stats project
I've already told some of you that I'm a stat whore. I found the official stats page to be updated to seldom. Therefore I honed my bash skills and made a Munin plugin (http://munin.sf.net) for graphing stats every 5 minutes. This was a bit heavy, so after some hours, I changed approach and made a proxy that calculate stats every 30 minutes. As there is 54 languages and percentage is spread between 0 and 100%, the graph became to difficult to read. I once more took out bash and made my own cron job to just make a top 10 graph on the last 24 hours. The calculation script calculated the total possible msgstr's from the template files (pots) and as an additional service, I made a script that shows what po-files for each team that have a difference in translated strings and the expected number of strings from the pot. This is not implemented into the calculation, and only run every 2nd hour. The Danes is so proud of always being in 1st place (when they have 100%) due to alphabetical sorting of language names, so I've implemented a "fair" (read random) ordering when ever two teams have the same percentage. So, have a look at http://skillingstad.no/opensuse/ and send me suggestions/bugs if you have any :) Cheers, Rune Nordbøe Skillingstad -- Bash hacker --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-translation+help@opensuse.org

Yes, a very nice service! Wondering whether you could also sort completely different--that's not sorted by language, but by program or module? For example, sometimes I'm very interested to see at a glance, how many 100% slideshow translations are available ;-) -- Karl Eichwalder R&D / Documentation SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nuernberg) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-translation+help@opensuse.org

That's a bit out of scope for my service. For such feature, I would have to reimplement the stats program you use on i18n.opensuse.org, and have some kind of database (the calculations is right now in a simple CSV file). I'll keep it in mind, but don't hold your breath .Rune -- echo "$NICE_QUOTE" > $HOME/.signature --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-translation+help@opensuse.org

I've added fuzzy, coz that wasn't that hard.. The column "untranslated" isn't gathered from the msgfmt output, but calculated (I might get around to count those sometime though...) .Rune --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-translation+help@opensuse.org
Interesting... I wonder what 6 strings are missing from pam-config.da.po ... i18n.opensuse.org shows it as completely translated with 49 of 49 strings... Apparently the pot file has 55? /Martin. ----- "Rune Nordbøe Skillingstad" <rune@skillingstad.no> wrote:

I probably forgot to merge or the process failed for something unknown ;-( Thanks for reporting. It seems most languages are missing these, save for norwegian... Many other languages seem to miss much more. Hopefully you can use Runes tool to get it sorted ;) /Martin. ----- "Karl Eichwalder" <ke@suse.de> wrote:

I must admit that I've merged that pot myself to "win" the stats ;) All the other diffs you find in those files, are due to untranslated/fuzzy strings (and I haven't implemented those calculations in that script). .Rune --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-translation+help@opensuse.org

Very clever :) BTW, the merge scripts are in 50-tools; if you feel comfortable with shell scripting, just take a look. You can use them for _your_ language, but do not checking the file set automatically, until you know what you are doing.

Ok, I take this for granted. pam-config.pot got updated separately, it was probably an isolated issue. -- Karl Eichwalder R&D / Documentation SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nuernberg) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-translation+help@opensuse.org
Hi Rune, Could you create a seperate stat page for packages? This is not part of the translation cyclel, but few languages working on it and maybe ohers will jump in later. thanks kalman

Deal. As these calculations uses a great deal of resources on my host, I've added this and only update once pr hour (and the missing translations-pages only every 4th hour). http://skillingstad.no/packages/ .Rune -- Validated as XHTML1.1 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-translation+help@opensuse.org

I had recycling in mind when I coded the scripts; so this wasn't a big job to implement an other "project" as well :) .Rune --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-translation+help@opensuse.org
