[opensuse-translation] beta2 localization..
I've noticed a few things that strike me as a little strange, but I'm not sure if they are intended, so I'll ask here before I get my bugzilla on. Installing from kde-cd grub/bootloader is not translated, even after selecting Danish in my case. Bug? or intended due to space restrictions? During installation YaST is (almost) fully localized. Only two things stood out. The "release notes" tab in the package installation step was not translated. And neither was the slideshow - bug? or space issue? From what I understand for Russian the slideshow was partly localized when installing from 1-cd. Some positive feedback.. When selecting Danish in grub and adding the online repos, the translations are automatically selected and installed. Very nice. After installation many things are not localized however, kickoff, sysinfo, opensuseupdater, maybe more.. known bug? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-translation+help@opensuse.org

Not really. The slideshow was not localized at all. YaST in general was almost fully localized (except some help sidebars and test strings)

As for Russian, opensuseupdater was only partly localized. Probably not all translations were merged yet, some languages have more included translations, some less. I have a question regarding translation deadline. The final round is already finished but what is the last date for submitting fixes for issues found during testing? (btw, we are still unable to test everything since we don't have a fully localized build). -- Regards, Nikolay Derkach --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-translation+help@opensuse.org

According to the roadmap at http://en.opensuse.org/Roadmap/10.3#Thu.2C_Aug_23_____openSUSE_10.3_Beta2_re... there will be 3 occasions for merging translation fixes into opensuse 10.3 Regards, Rinse --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-translation+help@opensuse.org

Concerning YaST, we can accept fixes up to the RC1 release. Updating other programs depends on the severity; a packager must not update a package after beta3 just to fix a typo in a rather hidden help-text. If necessary, we can prepare online-updates after the release; at least for YaST. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-translation+help@opensuse.org

Those translation are for Beta 2 and Danish in bundle-lang-kde package (31MB). Hello, I have noticed exactly the same thing for Portuguese (pt). Perhaps Karl could give us some information whether that is normal, or that we should open bugs for this symptoms. If you have already opened a bug, please let me know the number. Yes, IIRC, the 1-cd installation media come en_US support only. When you activate the online repositories, full localization support is available. Christoph, can you confirm it

Sounds like an old bug; we have had a similar issue with the help button in the past. Will you please file a bug report?

I just checked the slideshow package that I just submitted; all *.rtf files that YaST displays are fully translated. So, either it was a packaging bug on beta 2 or a "real bug". I must investigate tomorrow.

Ah, yes, that's it :-)

I'm not familiar with these "many things" ;) Maybe, it is worth entering bug reports. For sure, opensuseupdater is meant to be localized. There were some late string changes, but otherwise it was already translated on beta 2. Don't you see any translation at all? -- Karl Eichwalder R&D / Documentation SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nuernberg) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-translation+help@opensuse.org
