[opensuse-translation] SVN Branches in suse-i18n
We are in the process creating branches: https://forgesvn1.novell.com/svn/suse-i18n/branches/SLE10SP1 For SLE10 SP1 https://forgesvn1.novell.com/svn/suse-i18n/branches/openSUSE-10_2-Branch For openSUSE 10.2 Thus far, none of these branches is open for check-ins. If you want to fix anything 10.2 related, just use the trunk as during the last months. In case of serious ("critical") issues of which you want to see an online update, create a bugzilla entry as well. Most of the translation iusses are by definition not "critical", so do not be disappointed if we cannot release on official update. Later this week, I will prepare the yast2 translation online update from the trunk for 10.3 ( see http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=328213 ) and then create a openSUSE-10_3-Branch. Once done the trunk is open for 11.0 developement (we are still working on the roadmap, do not ask for dates at this very moment). The warning: I'm going to add slepos-installation.pot to the SLE10 SP1 branch. Please, do _not_ work on this file or this branch at all. We (the group of Spanish translators) have a problem. We have a bunch of translated .po files for 10.3 we don't know when/where to submit. In the trunk..es/po branch you made a "merge". Just override my merge, please. That's checkout the current files from the trunk, copy your translations into the checkout and checkin your files as replacements. Actually, we have been working on the "trunk" for about three or four weeks, as there is no 10.3 branch, AFAIK - allthough most files are being commited today. Our doubt is what should we do when you create the 10.3 branch so as not to loose our work in the trunk? I mean, to carry over the translated messages from trunk to 10.3. Or... perhaps you mean for the phase of moving from 10.3 back to trunk, later on? That's a month or two in the future, I hope. I wasn't thinking of that one yet. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. Submitting to the trunk is just fine. a) We will build 11.0 from the trunk. b) I will create the 10.3 branch from the trunk. We will use the 10.3 for maintenance updates, if any.

I submitted 36 files this early morning (night). I have also made a checkout of the new 10.3 branch (partial). Now we have the problem I was afraid of: the new lcn branch does not contain our translations. What procedure do we follow to move the translated messages, from say: trunk/lcn/es/po/SUSEgreeter.es.po ==> openSUSE-10_3-Branch/lcn/es/po/SUSEgreeter.es.po and the rest of the files. That's the problem, because what our group is interested in is in finishing the 10.3 translation in order to eventually get the update in the servers. In other projects in which I cooperate, I simply copy my current translated .po file over your one, then run "make update-po" and it's done, the new messages from the .pot file appears, stale ones disappear, and changed ones are marked fuzzy. Concerning yast, I branched straight from the trunk. No need to fool with the merging stuff there. For merging, I think you must have yast2-devel installed. Once done the trunk is open for 11.0 developement (we are still working on the roadmap, do not ask for dates at this very moment).
openSUSE-10_3-Branch now exists for lcn (yast and packages will follow later). Only 'bg' could not be copied because of a header issue; I'm going to sort it out later. trunk/lcn is now open for 11.0 work. This means, developers will submit new POT files and merging with existing translations will start again.
Kára, it is time to add openSUSE-10_3-Branch to http://i18n.opensuse.org/stats/ ;-)
I remove 10.2 branch and add the 10.3 in the web stats. I'll create the openSUSE 11.0 at https://forgesvn1.novell.com/svn/suse-i18n/branches/openSUSE-11_0-Branch now. If any, translation onlines for 11.0 will be built from this branch.
