Thanks, Andreas, for spotting! This should not have happened. I think this means that our pre-commit check script it not active. Darix, will you please verify it?

I guess we must adjust the names of some directories.

Darix does not seem to be available ATM. Can someone else help with this issue? Do we project admins have shell access to the SVN root of our project?
Translations, please pay special attention while checking in translation files. Either use save tools such as kbabel or validate the PO files before submitting ("msgfmt --check file.LL.po"), or better do both things. Right now, the repo happily accepts broken PO files...

Darix is on vacation and supposed to be back today.
Karl, you are an admin as well and have shell access - let me show you in person how...

I have access to svn.berlios.de
I assume the svnroot is /svnroot/repos/opensuse
Hi,
we are about to enable the check script again. ATM, the script (resp. the gettext tools at berlios) do not support the msgctxt keyword. This means, it is not possible to check in the update-desktop-files.
I'll inform you once this will be possible again.

Can't we just not run the check on update-desktop files for now?
Andreas

Yes, this is my idea, too. I hope, darix can help us and add the needed bits. My python skills are rather rusty...

darix found the old customization, but now we are wondering whether that good enough:
if len(path) < 3 or path[-3:] != '.po' or base == 'update-desktop-files' or not changed:
I guess this will not catch files such as:
update-desktop-files-apps.de.po update-desktop-files-conflicts.de.po update-desktop-files-directories.de.po update-desktop-files-kde-services.de.po update-desktop-files-kde.de.po update-desktop-files-screensavers.de.po update-desktop-files-yast.de.po
(wondering what was going on on forge, though...) Any Python expert out there?

What do you need? Do you have the script at hand?

Here we go--Darix recommends to give re.match a try:

My suggestion is to change the comparision line to:
if len(path) < 3 or path[-3:] != '.po' or base.startswith('update-desktop-files') or not changed:
strings methods are faster than regexp with single fixed strings.

Thanks, this looks very promissing and it works according to my tests. In the long or not so long run, we must try to convince the Berlios admins to upgrade their gettext installation...

For the moment, I disabled the check script again. We already have some more files with msgctxt field. Thus it is necessary to update the gettext tools on the SVN server.

Good news: the admins at Berlios update the gettext suite :-))) Thus I will now enable the check again. In case of trouble, please holler ;)
