[opensuse-translation] Preparing 11.4 translation online update
As usual, shortly after the release I'd like to prepare a translation update. Please, help with collecting info about parts that are worth an update. Webyast is already known. Which yast languages? Desktop components? There is already a about update-desktop-files: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=679089 BTW, if you resolve a translation bug and it deserves an online update, do not set its status to RESOLVED, but better assign it to me for packaging and releasing an update. Of course, all you guys familiar with packaging are encouraged to prepare translation online updates! -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-translation+help@opensuse.org

I'd like to see update for zypper and update-desktop* (from lcn) in Polish. All updated .po files are in berlios svn already and they were there ready before rc2 but weren't included. -- Pozdrawiam / Best regards, Mariusz Fik openSUSE Community Member

Desktop components? I've got some reports about not translated yast messages, while I have all translations ready, so I guess some russian translations were not included. Would be nice to have an update for this. -- Regards, Minton. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-translation+help@opensuse.org
Hi Karl, are there any chance to compare translations in svn and package sources. sometimes hard to figure out that our translations are in the product or not, even if we meet the deadlines. this happens more often with non-yast packages (desktop files, individual programs: zypper, yast-gtk). imho with this compare we can do a kind of rolling release for localization. and to answer to your initial question, I would request an update for gtk-yast and desktop files and still investigate the yast. thanks k On Sat, Mar 12, 2011 at 7:33 AM, Karl Eichwalder <ke@suse.de> wrote:

Same here, I'm not sure if spanish translation was all included. I have my doubts about yast-gtk -- Kind Regards -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-translation+help@opensuse.org

Do we have automatic verification between .pot and .po? They must match. I think you said vertaal did this, but I don't remember. The other point of failure, which is more difficult to verify, is that the pot messages matches the sources. The only clue is checking the dates of the pot files. Sadly, the kbabel catalog manager doesn't show .pot dates. A grep "POT-Creation-Date" finds them. Most (yast) are dated on december, which are a bit old, IMO. A few are older. Only one is dated 2011. ../../50-pot/casa-ats.pot:"POT-Creation-Date: 2008-09-18 13:04+0200\n" ../../50-pot/control-center.pot:"POT-Creation-Date: 2010-12-06 11:17+0100\n" - -- Cheers, Carlos E. R. I have just realised that openSUSE 11.4 isn't shipping the release notes in Spanish. Could you please include them in the next update? Thanks, -- Javier Llorente

All this took some days more than expected. In the meantime, I sent SRs to the build team (see https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=671870); these packages were affected: translation-update (with webyast) desktop-translations yast2-trans-* and I picked up the following languages that were touched by human beings within the last three months: da de es fi fr gl hr hu it ja km lt nb nl pl ro ru wa pt_BR ATM, the remaining piece is the release notes. We just acquired two new entries. A new merge is done and waiting for translation. It would be nice, if you could spent some minutes on them. I'll release the release-notes-openSUSE package end of next week (see https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=683822). According to the maintenace coordinators, there would be time all April long, but I think we will not need that much time. -- Karl Eichwalder R&D / Documentation SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nuernberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-translation+help@opensuse.org
