[opensuse-translation] joining the German translation team
Hi, I would like to join the German translation team. On the openSUSE i18n website (http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE_Localization_Teams) I leared that "Novell Globalization Services" is the German team coordinator. How can I join the team? In the mailinglist archive told me, that I need a Novell account and a Novell wiki page. So here is my wiki page (user: ademmer): http://developer.novell.com/wiki/index.php/User:Ademmer Greets, Andreas -- http://www.andreas-demmer.de

I changed that now. Now I'm the German team leader until somebody else volunteers. Do you want to become the team coordinator for German openSUSE translations?

Thanks for the offer. You now have commit permissions as Ademmer. Our team still is rather small. So, start with any file you want :) -- Karl Eichwalder R&D / Documentation SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nuernberg) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-translation+help@opensuse.org

Thanks, Karl! I am interested in taking responsability, but I am somewhat new to the translation project. So maybe I take a little look around and start getting used to the team. :-) My CV in a short summary: I am teamleader in the engineering unit of a small company. My unit mostly develops applications for automotive brands like Hyundai, Skoda, Mitsubishi and Suzuki. I started off as a PHP developer so I have some technical background and understanding. I am used to software development techniques and working with versioning systems. My first Linux experience was SUSE 6.2 but used Linux only as testing system beside Windows. With SUSE Linux 10.0, I completely migrated to Linux and never used Windows again (at home). Meanwhile, I am a fairly experienced Linux user. I join the team because I want to give back something to the community for creating such a great distribution.

As said before: I start with taking a look around. I will contact you later as soon as I have selected a file to start with! :-) Greets, Andreas -- http://www.andreas-demmer.de
