[opensuse-translation] Missing slideshow lang files on installation media
Hello. I checked the directory /suse/setup/slide/txt on DVD installation media and there is only en and gl directory. Other languages are missing. Was this necessary due to disc space or something went wrong? Those files were present on RC 2 installation media. It's a pity that users can see only English slideshow during installation. In english and in galician. There isn't a gl directory? Why I see a lot of blank messages from that mailing list? Bye, Leandro Regueiro

That's not my fault that somewhere the message gets strange characters at the end and then gmail doesn't display it. Yeah, but it wasn't decided or anything, it just happened. Looks to me as Karl added gl short before release and somehow dropped the other languages in the Makefile. It's a pity, but I'm afraid that's the price of updating translations so late in the process ;( Greetings, Stephan --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-translation+help@opensuse.org

Yes, please don't do that again. It is really a pity.... However, last-minute fixes are common in translation&development. Guess we should not simply say no to all that... Regards, Thruth On 6/17/08, Martin Schlander <suse@linuxin.dk> wrote:

Sure it is... Anyone knows if it will be fixed in the iso images or not? I guess this last minute change is bad but I think it is not too much to add the right files. Maybe we can release an updated version of the 11.0 on the server. Regards, Guillaume

Maybe a month later, a remastering of the dvd could be done correcting all the last minute problems found or still to be found. You know, the real testing will come now, regardless of beta phases :-p - -- Cheers, Carlos E. We're discussed this and it seems not very likely. We'll see. I know, I know :-) There have to be more significant problems in order to justify that decision; so we have to wait first to see if there are non discovered, important, bugs waiting out there. But, from the users point of view, a remastering a month later for the "perfect release" would be nice. I'm not advocating it, I'm just dreaming aloud ;-) - -- Cheers, Carlos E. I hope it would be fixed at least on the ftp repo. The bug #400581is still in state new. Because Karl is in his well deserved vacation? And no, we don't change the FTP repo unless we're forced to do so by legal or heavy security concerns. Especially as FTP installations are done by experts, that usually are not _so_ interested in slideshows, I don't think it's necessary either. Right, but it's the only thing what can be done. Regards Ladislav.

A fixed package is now available to be build; see https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=400581 . The bug was caused by my terribly broken package submission strategy; I forgot to check in Makefile.am and, additionally, I continued to work in the trunk. That's probably the cause why it went in unnoticed. -- Karl Eichwalder R&D / Documentation SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nuernberg) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-translation+help@opensuse.org
