[opensuse-translation] Live installer in native language

Hey people. Why is live installer still in english, when i install live cd (Milestone5)? Although i choose my native language(slovak) before booting live cd and live-installer is translated, still is in english. Is any way how i can reach live installer in my native language? Hi, Although we have a especific translation file for the LiveCD (live-installer.po) seams that its a bit more difficult to have at least the installer in our mother language: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=437563 Regards, Luiz 2009/8/13 Rastislav Krupanský <rastislav.krupansky@gmail.com>:

I have no words. So, why did we translate live installer to native languages and then it won´t be used on an official LiveCDs, becuase it too much work? It was useless work :-( -- S pozdravom / Best regards, Rasto -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-translation+help@opensuse.org

Indeed, these translations are in the yast translations packages. The official Live-CDs include only EN and DE. But having translated if allow you to make localized Live-CDs with Suse Studio or Kiwi. Maybe could openSUSE make a special package with the translations of only the live installer... instead of distributing dozens of localized versions of the live CD. You can build slovak live cds using suse studio and then your translation will be used. The official openSUSE Live CDs can't contain all possible translations, it's just a CD. So we went for the languages spoken in the top countries[1], which translates into yast2-trans-de yast2-trans-en_US yast2-trans-es yast2-trans-fr yast2-trans-it yast2-trans-pl yast2-trans-ru Greetings, Stephan [1] http://en.opensuse.org/Statistics -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-translation+help@opensuse.org

Although it might not be an answer you expected, we can build totaly localized Live CD/DVD with SUSE Studio[0] by ourselves now. I've recently built a fully Japanized KDE 4.3 Live CD with Japanese related packages including yast2-trans-ja, etc., in which I can launch Japanized Live-installer. It's by no means *official*, but if I understand correctly, we can distribute it in our local community as long as we observe Legal[1] and Trademark Guidlines[2].
