I wonder why the process of building the 11.3 Milestones does not include the newest translations. It seems to lack behind for several month, at least for the Dutch language. I also noticed in slideshow that 11.3 is mentioned there, however the slideshow.pot does not contain any 11.3 in it. It looks as if the pot files even lack behind. So I wonder if the effort put in translations for openSUSE is worthwhile.

Iy is discouraging, yes.

Can you give an example? Please note that each POT file has it's own maintainer, so if single maintainers do not react on the reminder mails we send, then you need to tell them your oppionion about this yourself - because those that do not react are usually not on this mailing list.
Greetings, Stephan

In slideshow.pot I did not find any mentioning of 11.3, it is still all 11.2. However when generating a M7 system, I saw in the slideshow 11.3 mentioned. Also I still see English messages there, where I translated everything already several months ago.
Greetings, Stephan

OK, if slideshow.pot is your problem, then please look at 50-pot/MAINTAINERS and write Karl a mail. It won't work another way I'm afraid.
Greetings, Stephan

Yes, that's correct for this case and all the other pot files.
slideshow (and release-notes) are special, though ;) I'm just the editor and packager. Contents are normally provided by the marketing guys (slideshow) or the developers (release-notes).
I'm not sure who of the openSUSE community now wants to maintain the slideshow texts. They reside as an xml file within the yast repo.

OK. But you did not address the fact that the newest Dutch translations, and maybe other translations for that matter, are not packaged in the newest Milestone distribution. You are the packager and you do not package the newest translations, at least the slideshow, in the newest Milestone. This is discouraging. When I install a Milestone I want to see how the translations look like. I also click on the Help to see how that looks.

I think, I forgot about it (probably because lack of time). I packaged slideshow translations on:
------------------------------------------------------------------- Fri May 14 14:05:36 CEST 2010 - ke@suse.de
- Update translations.

Fair wish.
