I'm tempted to ignore the issue: if the desktop filename is the same, then it means that you have two different versions of the same program in two prefixes. In this case, the most recent translation wins (ie, KDE4). Or are the KDE3 and KDE4 translations completely different?
The problem is: I don't know what's the most recent transltion - I'll need a way to figure it out, but that's technically possible I guess.
(I guess it will mainly be an issue for KDE3 vs KDE4?)
At least the KDE3 vs. KDE4 cases pollute the diff, so I can't tell if there are others.
