Hi everybody,
Beta 1 is official announced now. it is available at http://en.opensuse.org/Development_Version
Please have a look at http://en.opensuse.org/Bugs:Most_Annoying_Bugs_10.3_dev before you start your installation.
With Beta 1 we are very keen to get your feedback especially if you do have problems with your hardware during installation or later.
Looking forward to your feedback.
Thanks, Holgi

What's the status of the Factory and non-OSS FTP tree? - Are they at beta1 status right now? - Will they be frozen for some days to allow a complete download?

[Coolo]
The FTP trees are beta1 status, but we will reenable the sync later today I hope.
Thanks for the information, even if it is a bit late.
May I request that a notice about Factory freeze / unfreeze is included in future release announcements ("Factory is in sync andd will be frozen until $date") or as a short status notice to opensuse-factory? ;-) (CC'ing Coolo for this...)
Regards,
Christian Boltz
PS: As it turned out, beta 1 doesn't work here because I have most of /var on an encrypted partition... (known bug) So ironically I need a newer version. It seems some packages were already synced out recently, but not yet those I'd need :-(
