Hi list, I try to install 11.4 RC2 KDE LiveCD in my netbook HP 311. But it seems something wrong with the installer, it is stop responding when the progress bar show 35%. Anyone confirm this issue? Meanwhile no problem installing DVD version of 11.4 RC2 in my other laptop. -- medwinz ======================= http://medwinz.blogsome.com -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-testing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-testing+help@opensuse.org

How much memory you have in the netbook? Do you have swap partition? Did you use USB stick (pendrive) for installation? How did you make it? Did you use external CD/DVD USB drive? Did you load Live CD system first and then use Install icon on the desktop to start installation, or you started installation right from the GRUB boot prompt? Those 2 should differ in memory consumption. Any other details that you noticed that make difference between netbook, and laptop? Did you try to use net install iso? This uses much lesser memory then Live CD. DVD can be used instead NET iso. Just change source of installation. -- Regards, Rajko -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-testing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-testing+help@opensuse.org

Hi Rajko,
How much memory you have in the netbook?
2 GB in netbook, Intel Atom N280
Do you have swap partition?
yes, 2 GB. My total harddisk is 250GB
Did you use USB stick (pendrive) for installation? How did you make it?
Yes I use USB stick. I know to make it with imagewriter My mistake with thread subject, it should be 11.4 RC2 KDE live USB stick :-)
Did you use external CD/DVD USB drive?
This netbook doesn't have CD/DVD and I don't use it. I believe using it with RC2 DVD will have no problem. I remember the same problem I had when installing 11.3 and using external DVD with 11.3 DVD solve the installation problem

Right from the GRUB and using the desktop icon same result. I try both of them, and even with GNOME Live USB stick
Any other details that you noticed that make difference between netbook, and laptop?
In my laptop I use x86_64 version DVD and in netbook i586 version KDE live USB stick
Did you try to use net install iso? This uses much lesser memory then Live CD. DVD can be used instead NET iso. Just change source of installation.
Ok thanks for suggestion. regards, -- medwinz http://medwinz.blogsome.com -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-testing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-testing+help@opensuse.org
