VMware Workstation 6.5?
I'm running 11.1 RC1 on an AMD 64 and want to test VMwware Workstation 6.5 over the weekend. What packages do I need to install for the module builds to work? I looked for a "kernel-headers" package but didn't find one. Will "kernel-source" work? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-testing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-testing+help@opensuse.org

Hi, kernel-source should work. But (as you probably know) you'll need compiler, etc, so I suggest to install whole Linux kernel development pattern (which contains kernel-source). I think I have all of that. But how do you install the "Linux kernel development pattern" in YAST? When I did a search for the "kernel" string I didn't see it. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-testing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-testing+help@opensuse.org

I got it working! I had a version mismatch between the Linux kernel and the Linux kernel *source*. Now I'm running the same version and VMware Workstation 6.5.1 installed after I renamed /usr/lib/vmware/modules/binary to get around the "segfault" problem that's well-known on the web. :) -- M.
